“I’ll come and get you.”

“All right. How about you come at 10:00?”

“Works for me.”

By the time they left the restaurant, it was close to 11:00. Both had had a full week and were tired.

He pulled up outside her house. He opened her door, helped her out, and then set his hand on the small of her back to guide her up the sidewalk. He stood back and waited until she opened the door.

She turned back to him. “Do you want to come in for coffee?”

He maneuvered her back against the open door just inside the house, curled a hand over the back of her neck, and used his thumb to tilt her chin up.

“I better not. My control is already shaky with you.”

She stared up at him and nodded.

He bent and pressed his lips against hers. The kiss quickly burned out of control. Her moan snapped him out of the haze of arousal. He stared down at her and groaned at her red, swollen lips and desire-filled eyes.

“Shit, baby. If I don’t leave, I’ll have you naked in about thirty seconds flat, and I think it’s too soon for you.”

She straightened her spine. “You’re right, it is.”

“I’ll see you at 10:00 tomorrow.” He took a step away from her. “Damn, woman, when we finally get in bed, we’re going to blow the roof.”

She snorted out a laugh.

He pressed one hard kiss to her lips and walked out. “I want to hear the door lock, baby.”

She quickly closed the door and locked it.

“Good girl, good night.”

“Night.”

Roman drove home, aching with arousal and frustration. Jesus, what he wouldn’t give to get her underneath him. Just the thought of her wet, hot cunt, or ... fuck, her tight ass gripping him was enough to make him lose control.

He didn’t know how long he’d last before going insane. He’d never wanted a woman, anything, as much as Beth, and he would do anything to keep her.

Chapter Eight

Roman pulled up to the curb outside Beth’s house a bit early the next morning. He hadn’t been able to wait any longer before he saw her.

He noticed a red truck was parked on the driveway blocking her car.

He knocked. His mouth went dry when she opened the door and stood smiling at him.

“Good morning.”

His eyes scanned her. She looked beautiful again in faded jeans, well-used boots, and a button-down shirt. Her hair was pulled back into a tight braid, and it didn’t look like she wore any makeup.

He walked in, cradled her face in his hands, and kissed her. He raised his head. “Good morning. Did you sleep well?”

“Mostly. I kept having a dream about you.”

His eyebrows shot up. “Really. Please tell me it was hot?”

She giggled. “Maybe a bit.”
