Clearing his throat, he mentions, “Bones can’t make the accounting meeting today, he’s stuck at the garage, and I need to go help Clark with something, so I was hoping you’d go instead?”
Huh?
“Brother, I’m not a numbers guy, I know fuck all about accounting,” I say, perplexed, and he grimaces.
“To be honest, Norman’s firm is on it, all you have to do is confirm the amount for the tax, hear them go through it, and then watch as they pay the taxes for us before taking the receipt to Bones’ office at the club,” he says, and I frown, still confused as to why I’ve got to go…
I open my mouth, then close it when my phone rings and I wake the screen.
El:
Should I begin to pack? Xxx
Shit.
“You good?” Crash asks, noticing me tense, and I swallow the lump forming in my throat.
“I uh, mentioned to Elenor that I may claim her and she accepted,” I admit, and Crash slumps back.
“The girl you've been fucking at the trailer park?” he confirms, and I nod, not shocked that he knows about her.
Word gets around quick at the club, I swear, the brothers are bigger gossips than the women.
“Yeah,” I mumble, and he sighs, “You want my advice?” and I shake my head instantly.
“I know what you’re going to say, I don’t love her and I know this. I don’t want a forever love. I don’t want kids and I know Elenor would be content with that. Or at least I thought she would. She’s been getting pushy lately, getting jealous and as soon as I offered her the property patch, to give her a better life, I regretted my words,” I admit and Crash winces.
“Don’t do it, brother, you will regret it, and you know once she has that cut, you can’t take it back for five years per club rules,” he says as he stands before he says, “I know your life was fucked up, and I know you are doing better now with the club, that you’re happy. but that doesn’t mean you have to make her happy all because you’ve fucked her for years. You don’t owe her anything especially when she hasn’t even tried to get out of that trailer park.”
He walks to the door, but before going through it, he says, “The appointment is at two, I need to go speak to Belle before I go to Trick and Clark’s,” and then walks out.
I chew my bottom lip as his words echo.
Maybe I just need to think about it before messaging her back with my decision.

I pull up outside Norman's two hours later, the orange building fucking blinding. I shake my head as I get off my bike and walk towards the front door, my phone burning a fucking hole in my pocket.
El has messaged several times about me claiming her, one of the messages was if I’d support her sister as well. That pissed me off to the point I had to put my phone on silent just so I could get through the books before coming to this stupid ass appointment.
Halsy doesn’t need my help, she’s already in college. El is trying to get more money out of me, and I see right through her.
I walk into the building, white and orange hitting my eyesight before the woman, who has to be in her late thirties, behind the desk pulls her blouse down, seeing me, and I hold my eye roll.
“How can I help you?” she husks before biting her pen, but this time, I don’t hold the eye roll that wants to come out.
I can see her fucking wedding ring from here.
“I’ve been sent by my club for an appointment at two,” I state coldly, but it doesn’t deter her, and she smirks as she eyes me up and down.
“Blair is running late, but Norman is inside conference room two right over there,” she says as she points to a door on my right. Without another word, I walk to the room, her huff following me as I walk inside and Norman, a man in his late fifties stands and frowns.
“Blaze? You’re not the club’s treasurer, right?” he questions with confusion as he shakes my hands. I snort.
“I am not, apparently, no one else could come, and Crash didn’t want to reschedule or something,” I reply, or I’m guessing that is why he got me to come, though the look in his eye is still forefront.
The receptionist comes to mind, but surely he’s not trying to set me up with some older, married woman?
