“Winning Nationals this year. Last year, too. Oh, and there was this one competition…”
The girl loves to win. But I knew that already.
I interrupt her to ask, “Do you have a favorite memory that doesn’t involve cheer?”
“Um.” Kota’s brows cave in.
“It’s okay,” I finally say when it’s clear she doesn’t.
“I really enjoy swimming with you.”
My cheeks ache, more than they ever have. Both of our favorite memories include the other.
I feel bad bringing the mood down but I have to.
“Worst memory?” I force myself to ask.
“You said you wanted to know my favorites.”
“But you said this is how to get to know someone. I want to know you. All of you.”
“Just to get in my pants?”
“You’re not wearing pants.”
Her smile suddenly drops and her eyes go round.
“I’m not wearing underwear.”
She just realized that? It’s been one of my main thoughts since she took them off.
“Where are they?”
Ignoring her accusatory tone, I shake my head. “Bathroom maybe? You were wearing them in there, then when you got in bed, they were nowhere in sight.”
“You didn’t take them?”
And we’re back to last night’s conversation. I can’t deny it outright. I already tried that and she didn’t believe me. I’m not taking credit for it either though.
Mystery, it is.
“You want to search me?”
When she starts to get up, I hug her to me, making her laugh.
“I didn’t mean right now.”
“Are you wearing them or something?”
Now I’m laughing. “No.”
“I don’t believe you. Prove it.”
“You feel my cock?” I thrust it up into her stomach. It’s only at half-mast right now but she’s felt it hard as a rock, so she knows.
“Yes,” falls from her lips, sounding suspiciously like a gasp.
“Then you know it can’t fit in your tiny, little panties.”
