We move down the hall.

Fletcher opens the next door.

“This one,” he says, “is for the twins.”

June doesn’t step in right away.

She just stands there, staring.

“A nursery?” she whispers.

“Yeah,” Rex says softly.

She walks in slowly, one hand coming up to her stomach without thinking.

“Oh my goodness,” she breathes. “Look at it.” She turns back to us, tears slipping free now. “You did all this for me?”

“For us,” I correct.

Her laugh breaks in the middle, overwhelmed and soft and disbelieving all at once. “This is… this is too much.”

“It’s not,” Fletcher says. “It’s just right.”

We take her out back last.

Through the door leading to the workshop space.

Tools set up. Workbench in place. Space carved out specifically for her.

June stops in the doorway. “What is this?”

I watch the way her eyes move across the space, the way her breath catches as she takes it all in.

“This is for you,” I say. “A woodshop for your creations.”

She steps inside tentatively, but with a smile curling at the edge of her lips.

Runs her fingers over the workbench, the tools, the space.

“I don’t…” she shakes her head, tears falling freely now. “I don’t even know what to say.”

“You don’t have to say anything,” Rex tells her gently.

She turns back to us then and lets out a soft, broken laugh.

And then she moves.

Right into us.

Her arms wrap around me first, tight and shaking, her face pressed into my chest as she cries.

I hold her there, one hand coming up to the back of her head. “You okay?”

She nods against me. “I’ve never had anything like this before.”

“You do now,” I say.

Rex’s arms come around both of us. Fletcher’s hand settles on her back.
