Logan stared at me. “Was that the theme of Dragonspire?”

I stared at him for a long time while he squinted at me.

“Yes. It’s the only thing that gets Rosie to sleep,” I muttered while I caressed Liam’s head.

“You know what Dragonspire is?”

I narrowed my eyes at him. “What? Because I’m a woman, I can’t be a gamer?”

He shook his head and held up his hands. “Not saying that. Just unexpected. The boys give me shit for playing that nerd shit instead of sports games like them.”

I laughed. “So boring! RPGs are where it’s at!”

He grinned. “Console or PC?”

A small smile tugged at my lips. “Console. You?”

“Same. I’d love to get a nice PC setup, but I don’t get to play a lot with traveling all the time.”

I nodded. “I got busy when I got pregnant, but it’s easy to drop in, make armor, and do a dungeon crawl. I have a few people I play with, but I’m not in a guild or anything. I don’t have that time on my hands.”

He nodded as he stroked Liam’s head soothingly. Liam hadn’t gone back to sleep yet, but he calmed down once he was lying in between us. “I’m too busy with this one and playing hockey to be a serious gamer.”

“I didn’t pin you for a Dragonspire player.”

Now it was his turn to raise an eyebrow at me. “Why? Because I’m a jock?”

I felt heat color my face, but then a smile spread across his freckled face. “Are you making fun of me?”

He held his forefinger and thumb together. “A little. Sorry about him being a handful. You probably want to get home, yeah?”

I nodded, but the little boy in my arms burrowed into my chest and clung to me. “No! Stay!”

“Buddy, Lily has to go home, okay? She has her own baby she needs to take care of.”

Liam shook his little head. “No!”

Logan gave me a pained look.

“It’s okay,” I mouthed over Liam’s head.

“Gimme a minute. I gotta change out of this monkey suit,” Logan said, and he got out of bed and went into the walk-in closet.

Liam snuggled down against me again, and I couldn’t be mad at him. He was so cute, and with Rosie being with Seth, I was missing my snuggly baby. I was glad I had taken off my bra and was wearing leggings and a hoodie. Sleeping in my jeans would have been uncomfortable.

It was probably good Liam had stopped Logan and me from doing something impulsive. Logan was hot, but sleeping with him was a bad idea. Even though I wanted to kiss him again.

I stroked Liam’s hair as his little head lay nestled against my chest. Logan needed help with the little guy. My heart broke for them in equal measure. It was the mama in me. I wanted to dry all of Liam’s tears and take the burden from Logan. I couldn’t help it.

“Hey, did you get a chance to call my sister?” I called out to Logan.

“Yeah!” he called back, his voice muffled as he got changed in the closet. “I want to check her references and have her meet the little guy.”

“I’m one of them! I trust Mari with Rosie’s life.”

“I’m still gonna check the others.”

“You don’t have anything to worry about. Mari doesn’t like men, so she won’t hit on you.”
