I can’t fight them all.

Then again, maybe she didn’t have to.

“You want that too, don’t you darling?” Oscar continued, reaching for her. “To feel every inch of my—”

Susie moved without thinking, her arm snapping out at Oscar so the corner of the tray collided with the side of his neck.

He made a gurgling sound as he stumbled sideways, clutching his neck.

Susie had an opening—a chance to dart around the edge of the classroom. If she was quick, maybe she would make it as far as the door.

But then what? She would never be able to outrun them, especially not the one in wolf form—he would catch her within seconds and drag her back with his teeth.

So instead, she went in for the kill. Molten anger heated her body as she leapt at Oscar, dropping the tray as her claws slashed through the air.

He reeled back, the tips of her claws missing him by inches.

His cronies hurried to the rescue, but it was too late. Susie continued forward, swiping with her other hand, aiming for Oscar’s throat.

He raised his arms at the last second, and her claws shredded his clothing and sunk into flesh, digging in through muscle and connecting with bone.

Spittle flew into her face as Oscar screamed, his expression equal parts livid and shocked as bright blood soaked his shirt.

Before any of the omegas could intervene, Susie jerked Oscar close, the claws of her hand still hooked into his arm as she spun him around, her other hand closing around his throat. Razor-sharp claw tips against Oscar’s neck.

“Stay back,” she ordered the omegas.

“You’re fucking crazy!” Oscar shrieked.

“Shut it,” she hissed, her claws pressing into his throat.

Oscar gave a cry of pain and relented. It didn’t matter that he was stronger than her, not when she was a heartbeat away from opening his throat.

“You fucking bitch,” Oscar sneered, although it came out more like a whine. “I’ll make you pay for this. I’m going to make your life at the academy hell.”

Oscar took her for a fool. He didn’t seem to realise that after everything he’d done to hurt her, she had no intention of letting him live. He was too vengeful and would only strike again if she didn’t end him now.

He was rotten to the core, but right now, he was her ticket out of here.

“Tell your omegas to back off,” she snarled.

“Bitch, fuck you—”

Susie’s claws penetrated deeper into Oscar’s arm.

“Fuck!” he yelped. “Bitch!”

“Tell them,” she growled, squeezing his throat and feeling her claws scrape skin.

“All right, all right!” Oscar gasped, waving an arm at the omegas looking on in concern. “Get back!”

The omegas didn’t move.

Susie felt a twinge of panic. It would only take one hard punch from either of the omegas closest to her to knock her out cold. If they attacked, she would take Oscar with her, but then she’d be without a hostage and at the mercy of the others.

Thankfully, one of the omegas relented. “Are you sure, Oscar?”

“Yes!” Oscar shrieked as the others began to back away. “Everyone, get the fuck away and make this stupid cunt let go of m—argh!”
