“I hope you do. I’ve learned my lesson on choosing anything over you and Ocean. Y’all are my entire world, my reasons for living and to keep going. I’d be crazy to let anything get in the way of it again.”

“And I’d be crazy not to hear you again, Shea.”

“What do you mean?”

I flipped over onto my stomach and propped up on my elbows. “Back then, you expressed to me many times what your plan was. I was listening, but I didn’t hear you, Shea. I didn’t take the time to truly think about and see things from your perspective, only mine. It wasn’t fair to you.”

“Let’s make a promise to one another.”

“What promise?”

“That we will leave the past in the past and not allow it to affect where we are now. While the past is helping us today, we can’t allow it to interfere with what we’re building now. We’re building on a new foundation, Love. We both know the foundation set the tone for the build, and I want this one to be better than the last.”

Shea held his picky out. I sat up, grabbed it, and puckered my lips up.

“I promise.”

“I do too. I love you. Once all this shit is over, you won’t have to worry ’bout me stepping foot in JMG again.”

“I love you too, Shea. You know what else I’d love?”

“What?”

I reached over and started stroking his already growing member. With his hand around my neck, Shea parted my lips with his tongue while I continued to beat his dick. The feel of it in my hand excited me. For some reason, I’d always loved touching it, even when I wasn’t trying to be sexual. I loved the way it felt inside and outside of me.

We’d showered before we gotten into the bed, so it was easy for Shea to roll over on top of me and slide inside of me. I opened my legs wider and pulled them back to feel every inch of him. Hungrily, I kissed him, sucking the taste of liquor off his tongue while he delivered long, deep strokes.

Despite how good he felt, something in my heart felt off. I didn’t want to let him go. I wanted to hold him hostage until everything was handled without him. I tried to shake it off, but the feeling didn’t go away.

Was I being selfish, or was it a warning?

Regardless, I prayed over him. In the middle of him making me cum all over his dick, the only thing I could think about was his safety.

God, don’t take him away from me when I just got him back.

O'SHEA COLLIER

“We’re moving tonight.”

“Nah, that’s not what we agreed to.”

“Well, it’s what we’re doing. Like you said, we need to nip this shit, so why wait?”

It was the first time I’d been around Onyx since we had our disagreement, and he already had me heated. The only thing keeping me sane was Moya’s words echoing in my mind. I wanted to talk to him about it, but now wasn’t the time. We needed to focus on the task at hand, just not suddenly.

I scrubbed my hands down my face and released a frustrated sigh. “Onyx, what sense does it make for us to move without a well-thought-out plan?”

“Isn’t that why we’re here? To come up with one?”

“It is, but this isn’t something we need to take lightly. We can’t throw around a few ideas and move. We need something good, something solid that everyone agrees on. We need to be able to sit on it in case something happens to where we need to switch it up. Don’t act like you don’t know this, man.”

Tre cleared his throat. “I agree with O on this, Onyx. We agreed to move on Saturday, so why rush it?”

Onyx slammed his palms on the table and glared at us. That was my cue to leave. I wasn’t sure what his problem was, but I wasn’t in the mood for his shit. Onyx had been on one lately, and I was going to call my sisters to see if they’d noticed as well.

I stood and dapped everyone up before heading to the door.
