She was rubbing her shoulder and about to ask what was wrong when she took one look at my face and just knew.

“Where?”

“Behind me. I don’t know,” I gasped, finally able to fight off his alpha bark. “He smells all wrong, Sabrina. Something is genuinely wrong with him. He grabbed me and—”

“Did he hurt you?” she asked, instantly on edge as she wanted to come to my defense.

“No. No.” I shook my head, shaking now as the shock started wearing off. “He grabbed me and tried to get me away from the crowd, but I broke a shop window.” I winced, recalling what I had just done. “I’ll definitely pay them back, but I think the owners would understand.”

“Fuck, yeah they will,” Sabrina reassured me as she wrapped an arm around me and started moving through the crowd.

My trust in my best friend was absolute. I’m so glad that I was able to get away, but then I heard him.

“Tills! Tills!”

Jonathan was looking for me, and he wasn’t trying to hide this time. It had a crazed, sing-song quality to it that made Sabrina tug me faster.

I swallowed hard, trying to block out his taunting voice as we weaved through people.

“Dean!” Sabrina screamed. “Mom! Dad! Pop!” Her voice rang loud and clear and a scream echoed out as I was yanked backward.

“Why are you running from me, Tills?” Jonathan cooed as he pulled me hard against his chest.

“Let go of my best friend!” Sabrina screamed as she cocked her fist back and slammed it into Jonathan’s nose. Blood spurted down his face, and he let go as he howled in pain. “Someone help! Rabid alpha!”

Apparently, that was the keyword because in seconds we were being pulled further into the crowd as a group of alphas circled around him.

I was sobbing now, unable to stop it, as he almost had me twice. Where the hell was my pack?!

“Tillie!” Dean’s booming voice parted the crowd as he rushed forward. He took one look at me and pulled me close. “What happened? Where did you go?”

“The crowd got between us and I couldn’t get back to you and Jonathan found me,” I sobbed out. “Sabrina got me away again, and he snatched me a second time. He’s crazy, Dean.”

“I punched him and some alphas are sorting it now,” Sabrina added on. The other three members of my pack shifted around us, holding me close.

“I want the sheriff. I’m pressing charges against that omega for assault!” Jonathan screamed.

“Fuck this,” Jack said as he lunged into the crowd. A second later, another howl of pain echoed out. I couldn’t see, but, apparently, Sabrina could.

“Hell, yeah, Jack! Hit him again!”

“Move aside!” The cops started calling out, parting the crowd until they reached us.

“That alpha attacked her,” Sabrina said before they could ask a single question. “He’s crazy. It took me and her alpha to get him to stop grabbing her.”

I held up my bruised wrist for emphasis and the sheriff took one look at my crumpled, tear-stained face before moving.

“We have a restraining order. He violated it,” Dean added. The sheriff nodded once before heading for the alpha.

This time he was going to get the message and never come back. Looking up at my pack and my family as they rushed over, I knew we would all make sure of it.

Jack

Iwas shaken and I couldn’t imagine how Tillie felt.

Tillie came home after the protest and took a shower. Alone. She said she needed to get the smell of Jonathan off of her and have a moment by herself.

Kai and Aiden went after her and I could hear them saying they were just going to hang out in their room and be close by. I didn’t hear her response but they didn’t come back, so I assumed she was good with it.
