“Fuck yeah, Goldie!”

“You tell them!”

People from the crowd were egging her on, backing her up as she squared off against these two alphas without a hint of fear. My dads weren’t far behind her, not getting in the way, but watchful.

“Look, I know people in these types of places don’t really understand how the world works—”

“Excuse me?!” I yelled out, appalled at this guy.

“But you need to find a place better suited for an omega and not making a scene if you don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Oh. Shit.

There was nothing worse that this man could have said.

My dads looked just as mad as my mom as she threw the stack of papers at the pompous asshole and screamed that he was a fucking idiot.

Then the true chaos exploded.

The crowd went crazy as the business guy started yelling at my mom. My dads rushed up to my mom’s defense while the sheriff tried to calm everyone down. Chaos exploded and I could hear sirens starting to come towards us on main street.

In that craziness I got swept away from my alphas, so I turned trying to figure out where they were but instead I faced a man I never wanted to see again.

Jonathan.

Tillie

“Tillie, you smell divine,” he purred as he walked closer.

I tried backing away, but there wasn’t really anywhere to go with all the people around. He got close enough that he began running his nose along my jaw so he could get more of my scent.

I was frozen to the spot, my omega fully panicking as my pack was nowhere in sight and the crowd was far too crazy now to scream.

“Don’t run,” he urged, as his finger trailed over my collarbone. He was so close that I could scent him and it was wrong. My omega curled in on herself, but my fight or flight kicked in. I struck out with my hand, catching him in the throat.

He sputtered and clutched at his neck, glaring at me now. “What the hell, omega?”

“Don’t fucking touch me. I’ve made it clear and you are violating your restraining order. Leave. Now.”

“That pack isn’t even protecting you now,” he seethed. “But I saw you alone. I stepped up. Yet, this is the thanks I get?”

He moved faster than I could and wrapped his long fingers around my wrist. I opened my mouth, a scream tearing free, but he barked me into silence.

“Quiet. No screaming or yelling or calling for help, omega.” The order washed through me with icy clarity and my mouth was practically glued shut as every cell in my body protested being barked at.

Fuck this alpha.

He dragged me down the sidewalk as the sounds of the crowd started to quiet, panic set in. I knew damn well I could not let him get me further away. Not at any time, but especially not so close to my heat.

Jonathan may have barked me into silence, but not into being good. I grabbed a trash can as we passed, flinging it against the storefront, breaking glass. I have no clue how I lifted the metal can, but desperation and adrenaline were powerful things.

“What the fuck, Tillie?!”

His surprise was my opportunity.

I yanked my hand out of his hold and ran with abandon towards the crowd. Desperation filled me as I threw myself into the chaos and looked around trying to find my family, Dean’s, my pack… Anyone that knew about Jonathan and could help me.

I wasn’t quite looking where I was going and slammed into someone. Stumbling back I saw it was Sabrina.
