“That sounds like a challenge. There’s just something primal and satisfying about picturing us trying to get you pregnant, filling you with our cum,” Dean hummed. “Just without the added baby consequences for now.”
“I can get on board with that,” Aiden said, his own expression darkening.
“Save it for the heat, you brutes,” I said. “We’ve got a puzzle to solve. Oh, and give me this.”
I reached over and tugged Dean’s shirt off before adding it to my nest with a satisfied smile while Kai invited Dean in and handed over a headset.
“Game on.”
Tillie
“We’re going to be late!” I yelled into the house. We’d all been getting ready for the big family dinner tonight. Dean and Sabrina’s family were joining mine. And if we didn’t hurry, we were going to be late.
Feet thundered down the stairs as all four of my men stood there, cleaned up and smelling phenomenal. I took a deep breath and groaned.
My heat hadn’t started yet, but I knew it was close.
“Come on,” Dean teased as he plucked the keys from the front table and led the way out the door to the SUV. We all piled in and Kai started up the music. We all fit together so perfectly now that it felt like second nature. We’d shifted from something new to a true pack.
“I think I’m ready for bites,” I said to no one in particular. Part of me needed to hear it out loud to confirm. The excitement bubbling in my chest was answer enough.
Dean swerved a little as Aiden cursed. Kai just grinned, and Jack groaned, adjusting himself. They were too easy.
“I’m just saying.” Shrugging playfully, I told Kai to turn the music up.
“Wait a minute—” Dean started but then my cell phone started to ring.
“Hey, Mom!” I answered with a laugh and she greeted me with a loud hello. “We’re on the way now—”
“Okay, slight change of plans, Tillie,” Mom said, cursing going on in the background. “Could you all actually meet us down at town hall instead? Your dad is already calling Wyatt to let them know.”
“What — why are we going to go to town hall?”
Dean looked back at me in confusion as he pulled over to the side of the road. The others looked just as confused and interested as they heard just my side of the conversation.
“They are trying to hold a meeting about the data centers without the public being allowed to be there. Can you imagine?! How dare they?! Look, I can’t let that stand. We can’t let that stand.”
“So, are we just postponing or —?”
“Tillie Marie Ashford!” I winced at her pulling out my full name. “I know I raised you better than that. You and your pack are coming out here to stand with us. Dean’s family is coming, too. Your dad just got off the phone with them. So, get your cute asses down here. I have extra signs.”
Click.
I put my phone down as Kai let out a whistle.
“You got the full name, Tillie,” Kai said. “My mom only used mine if she was about to drag me into the house by the ear for not listening.”
“I don’t have a middle name,” Aiden said thoughtfully.
“You don’t?” I asked, turning to look at the beta beside me.
“Nope.” He shook his head. “I don’t think my parents could agree on anything.”
“We need to focus,” Dean interrupted, rubbing his face as he tried to keep it together. “What’s going on?”
“Apparently, the town is trying to have a no-public allowed meeting at Town Hall and my mother says we can’t let that stand. Guess we’re going to protest,” I sighed, but honestly, I knew this would be too good to miss.
“Being arrested might not look good for our studio, so let’s keep it peaceful,” Dean muttered as he changed course to Town Hall.
