“Earth to Dean!”

“Shit, sorry. Lost in my own head,” I apologized to my sister. “We will be there for dinner. I promise.”

“How many are we expecting? Our parents will want to know they have enough for everyone.”

A laughable thought they wouldn’t make enough food since every family meal had enough leftovers to feed a damn army. A small laugh escaped me as I rubbed my face.

“There’s four of us, including me,” I told Sabrina. “They aren’t allergic to anything, so they don’t have to worry about any of that.”

“Well, just so you know, Alex is going through a vegetarian phase, so there will be other options with dinner as well. Dad is excited to try new culinary adventures. His words, not mine.”

“Oh, yeah? What does Pop have to say about that?” I try to imagine Pop Steven who is a ‘meat with every meal’ kind of guy facing a meatless meal of any kind.

“He’s glad he isn’t a rabbit competing with Alex’s food intake,” Sabrina deadpanned before we both burst out laughing.

“Alright, well I’ll see you in a few hours.”

“Call Mom, dumbass. They will want to hear from you regardless.”

“Love you, too,” I griped.

“I know,” she sang back then hung up the phone.

“Such a brat,” I said with affection and laid back down on the couch.

Exhaustion was still pulling at me along with fuzzy images of whoever this omega was that Jack ran into. She must have really been something to get him brave enough to finally lose his virginity.

My phone beeped but this time it was a text message in the pack chat.

Jack

Dinner tonight ok? She said she could meet us then.

Kai

Let me just check one thing.

Dean

My sister just called. My parents want to have us all over tonight so they can meet you.

Dean

I just literally got off the phone with her or I would have told you sooner.

Kai

Well shit.

Kai

Not in a bad way Dean. But just…

Dean

I get it.
