“Yeah, they all have their purpose.” I turned and pointed at the top and started naming off the reason I’d wear the pair. “Swimming, hiking or playing sports, wearing shorts, if I have to wear different types of shoes in one day, around the house, and my first pair that I keep for an emergency.”

“So, that’s what you meant earlier when you said how tall you are depends on the day.”

“Yeah,” I replied sheepishly before turning back to look at her. “You were saying you were going to need…?”

She gestured to her bare chest and the torn top. “A shirt.”

I winced when I saw the tatters of her pajama shirt. “Oh yeah, sorry about that.”

“God, I’m not.”

Good, because I’m really not either.

She continued, “That was so hot.”

It was pretty fucking hot.

“I thought so, too.”

“I might have to go to the thrift store, just in case you want to do it again.”

I abandoned my packing and exited the closet to put my arms around her waist.

“I’d be more than happy to rip your clothes off anytime. Just say when.”

She looked up at me with a sly smile. “Surprise me.”

Chapter Ten

Kristy

Justin gave me one of his black t-shirts to wear home, and a little before one in the morning, we made the short drive to my house.

As we approached my driveway, I suggested I move my car from the garage so he could park there instead.

“Which do you think would draw more attention,” he asked, “your car in the driveway or mine?”

“Definitely yours. At least with my Mazda out front, there’s plausible deniability.”

“Or we could just bite the bullet and let people talk…”

“Orrrrr, we could keep things on the downlow for a little while longer.”

“I’ll do whatever you want. If you want me to park in the garage, I will. But you know someone’s going to see me leaving tomorrow.”

“I know, but if your Jeep is parked out front, anyone out and about in the morning will see it.”

“Baby, like I said, I’ll do whatever you want.”

I reached for the door handle. “Good, wait here and I’ll back out.”

I hadn’t even shut my Jeep off after pulling into the garage when the door started coming down.

I knew we were going to be gossip fodder—hell, after tonight at Hannigan’s, we already were, but it was exciting to sneak around, so why not do it a little longer? At least until we went on our first official date.
