He replies instantly.

Pyro

No, is she okay?

Angel sees me panicking and comes over. “What’s wrong?”

“I can’t find Elena.”

Where the hell could she have gone? If she’s not at Pyro’s, maybe she went to the twins’ houses?

“She was upset. She said she was going back to her room,” he replies, brow furrowing.

“What’s wrong?” Meredith asks as she walks past with Bones.

“I can’t find Elena. I’m going to get Blade to track her phone. Can you ask Isla if she’s at your place?”

Meredith nods and pulls out her phone. “I’ll send a text to the group chat.”

I know she wouldn’t go back to her parents after tonight, but where else would she go? The thought that she might be walking around alone right now just to escape me has me feeling fucking sick.

Blade replies to my message and all background noise mutes.

Blade

She’s left the clubhouse. She’s in a car. Pulling the footage now.

She left me.

She’s pregnant.

And I’ll do anything necessary to get her back.

ELENA

I’m not close with my cousin, Alexei. He’s actually a bit terrifying. He’s the coldest man I’ve ever met in my life. Emotionless. Maybe that’s why I’m okay being around Angel and Ghost. Even they have some warmth to them.

Alexei? He has to be a sociopath.

He was brutally raised to be Pakhan one day.

And that day came sooner than he thought.

He is now the leader of the Bratva, and he is only twenty-one years old. I wouldn’t have messaged him if I had any other options.

The thing with Alexei is, we might not be close, but I’m still family. Our fathers are brothers, and he would never turn his back on me.

As soon as I sent him that text, he was on his way.

Rift wasn’t at the gate. I had gotten lucky and slipped out without anyone seeing me. From there, I ran down the road until Alexei and his bodyguard, Maxim, picked me up.

And now I’m sitting in his office, while he leans back in his chair and studies me with his ice-cold blue eyes.

“I only just flew back in yesterday. It seems like I’ve missed a lot,” he murmurs, sitting utterly still. “Why don’t you start from the beginning, Elena? Last I heard, Katerina was securing the alliance with the MC.” He says the word like it’s something filthy.

I tell him everything from start to finish. He doesn’t look impressed, but that says nothing because he never does.

“So you texted me because your feelings were hurt,” he finally says, eyes narrowing to slits. He leans forward, resting his arms on his desk. “I thought they hurt you or something. I was about to murder every single person in that clubhouse.”
