“Finally got your head out of your ass,” Blade adds, smirking.

Pyro nods his approval.

Bones pulls out his wallet and hands a stack of money over to Lore, who grins.

Of course they fucking bet on me.

“Good,” Prez comments, grinning. “She’s an asset to this club, and she’ll make the perfect old lady.” He shares a look with War. “Not going to lie, we already ordered the cut. Ora told us to.”

“I guess I was the last to know,” I mutter.

“You’re meant to be the smart one.” Lore grins.

“Okay, now tell us everything that happened tonight,” Prez orders.

I tell them about the dinner and how they want to send Katerina here instead. We conclude he wants Elena back for her skills, not because they have an alternate plan with us. It was a family issue, not anything to do with our alliance. Still, we will keep on watching them.

Once church is finally over, I head back in search of my woman. Anticipation fills me. I hope she can forgive me for everything. For making her wait. For not giving this marriage a proper start from the get-go. I want to be all in now.

Elena is mine.

My brothers have all grown up. Most have found old ladies, had kids, and stayed committed to their families and the club. It’s time I did that too.

I knock on Elena’s door for the second time tonight. When there’s no reply, I step into the room and call out her name. Nothing.

I step inside and walk to the bathroom, pushing the door open. “Princess?”

It’s empty.

But when I step inside, my eyes go to something left on the bathroom counter.

A pregnancy test.

Two lines.

Elena is pregnant with my child.

I’m going to be a father.

Why didn’t she tell me?

My first thought is that I hope our child looks like her, especially with her pale green eyes.

Putting the test down, I run back downstairs and search for her. When I don’t find her, I call her phone.

She doesn’t answer.

Dread settles in my bones. Where could she be? I know she’s upset. Maybe she went to Pyro’s? She likes the dogs there. At least, I hope that’s all she likes. When we move into our house, I’m going to get her a dog so she can stay her ass at home. I send Blade a message.

Suit

Find Elena.

He can track her phone or check the security cameras. Then I send Pyro a text.

Suit

Is Elena there?
