“What happened last night?” she asks, arching her brows.
“I gave him my virginity,” I blurt out.
“Oh, so you spent last night with him, and today he’s saying he doesn’t want anything to change?” she summarizes.
“Yeah, and he made me no promises, but I don’t know. I think I need to let go of the idea that this will ever be more than just a marriage of convenience.”
The man in question suddenly steps into the room, his eyes on his phone. He doesn’t even look in my direction. Instead, he heads straight for the pole room.
Ora’s lips purse, and she stares daggers at him.
I fight to keep my voice steady. “Well, I guess I’ll go to my room and feel sorry for myself.”
“No, you won’t,” she replies, standing up and offering me her hand. “Let’s go to the gym. A few of the men are in the ring fighting. I don’t know about you, but sweaty abs always cheer me up.”
As we step into the gym, my eyes widen. “Okay, I feel better already.”
She laughs and sits on the mats with her back to the wall, gesturing for me to join her. Blade is currently in the ring with Danger, the two of them wearing shorts, and that’s it. They are circling each other, but my eyes are on their bodies.
Wow.
There are a few attractive men in the Bratva, but none look like this. Romeo, Rune, and Curse stand around the ring, cheering their brothers on and waiting for their turn to fight. Danger gets a body shot on Blade, who returns with a right hook.
“So they just beat each other up for fun?”
“Yeah, and to keep up with their fighting skills,” Ora replies, smiling over at War, who steps inside with Zade in his arms. He comes over and hands her their son, kisses her on the top of her head, and then pulls off his T-shirt. “You better be watching me and only me, baby.”
Ora grins. “Of course, you know I only have eyes for you.”
He dips his head to kiss her hungrily.
Yeah, Ora is a lucky woman.
Next, Angel and Suit step into the gym.
They didn’t spend too long in the pole room—maybe he just got a quick blow job. The thought makes me feel sick.
Angel and Suit start to strip down, and I feel like I should be paying to see this. Where Suit is all delicious lean muscle, Angel is a lot bulkier. His muscles have muscles, and his shoulders stretch wider. He has a splattering of hair on his chest, and a trail that leads down underneath his jeans. He is covered in scars. He looks like a ruthless warlord from those romance novels I read.
When I look back over at Suit, he’s staring at me with a dark look, a muscle working in his jaw.
Does he not like me looking at Angel?
Didn’t the club girls say they share women?
“Suit is looking at you like he wants to put a blindfold on you and drag you out of here,” she whispers, sounding amused. “He’s definitely not as unfeeling as he’s trying to portray.”
I roll my eyes. “I’m getting sick of his mixed signals. I feel like he doesn’t want me, but he doesn’t want anyone else to have me either. Meanwhile, he goes into the pole room, and I have to overhear the club girls talking about how good he is in bed.”
Which I can now confirm is true, but that’s not the point.
Blade and Danger step out of the ring, and Rune and Curse get their turn. I haven’t spoken to the brothers much, but I know they are tattoo artists. They have an almost rock star vibe to them with all the tattoos and piercings. They are both super sexy.
“If you could pick one of them besides Suit, who would you choose?” Ora asks, lowering her tone so only I can hear.
“Blade,” I reply instantly, and she shoots me a knowing look.
“Into the whole Clark Kent thing?”
