I feel like I am not comprehending what he is saying.
“Don’t you have to work today?”
“Nah, baby, I’m the boss. I gave myself the day off. I didn’t have a lot of projects to work on. I have the small shit over to Whip and a couple of the other guys. Didn’t have any special requests for me. So I thought I’d spend the day with my family.”
I nod my head, “Yeah, I guess. If you’re not too busy. I mean I’m sure the boys would love that. Plus this is my last week before I head back to work.”
Thankfully before I had Jaxon I had found a job as a nurse at the same hospital that Peyton is currently working at while she finishes up medical school. She kind of got me in the door and yeah it is thirty minutes away, but they have great benefits and honestly I love the fact that I will be working with Peyton. I don’t know where she will end up after med school, but I hope she will still be around here.
“Are the boys starting school this year?”
“No, they are probably going to just do daycare.”
He nods his head and heads back to make me a plate of pancakes and fruit.
“Do you think that maybe they can go to the daycare here? That way we know they are okay and I can stop in and see them if I get down with work before you or even on my breaks if I stop in.”
I hadn’t given much thought to taking them out of the daycare they are in, but I know that Rachel has had a daycare here for awhile.
“I think that is something we can discuss, I haven’t had any issues with their current daycare. Who all do they watch here?”
“Well, the kids' cousins for starters.”
“Okay, well I guess we can do that. I mean it’ll be nice for them to be close, especially right now. I’ll have to figure out school next year.”
He gives me a look and says, “ We. Those boys are mine too. I do want to talk to you more about that, but I feel like you’re not ready for that yet.”
We continued on with our morning after that and I chose to ignore the joy that I felt knowing that he wanted to be involved in the decisions of all three boys. Then after we were all dressed and ready to go we walked to Sophie and Lash’s house.
Sophie and Lash live towards the back of the compound and normally we would use golf carts to get there, but today we decided to walk. The boys are having the time of their lives on the walk to Sophie’s.When we finally make it to the door, Dragon doesn’t even wait to knock he just walks in. You can hear Sophie talking down the hall towards where I would assume her living room is. I have never been here and really haven’t talked to Sophie much because I have a relationship with Peyton and Parker since I went to school with them.
“Soph! Where the fuck are you?”
I snap my head towards Dragon, “What the heck are you doing?!?! You don’t talk like that. She has children, you have children, what are you doing?” I slap his arm and grab Jaxon out of his stroller and walk towards where I hear Sophie. Only to be met by her. She has one of the boys in her arms and she smiles.
“Hey guys. What are you guys up to?”
“We wanted to visit. Where are the kids?”
“Well I’ve got Lucas and Leon, but the other kids are with their grandparents. They’ve got their homeschooling stuff today, then the boys have hockey and Rocky is taking them.”
I notice as Dragon nods his head.
“Cool, is Lash working at the shop or is he at the clubhouse?”
“Are you here to visit with me or the kids and my husband?”
“Well, I mean, I want to see your kids, Waylon and Walker do too, but I did want to see you too. My big sister, how are you doing? Give me that boy. Where is Leon?”
She hands over who I am assuming Lucas to Dragon and begins walking into the next room and we all follow. She walks over to the little play pin in the middle of the room and grabs Leon. She then sits down on the chair.
“Do you want to take Walker and Waylon to the kids playroom? That way they can have some fun while we visit.”
Dragon takes Lucas with him as he walks the boys to the playroom.
“How are you feeling, Liza? I know how it is after having a baby, plus you had to move your life around because of that alpha male brother.”
“Yeah, I’m alright. It’s been an adjustment and I guess I’m glad we are doing it this way for now for Jaxon. I just don't know what he expects to come out of all this because I don’t tend to go back once I’ve been hurt the first time.”
