“I’m just glad everyone’s finally leaving.”
Luciano’s brow lifts. “That excited for our honeymoon?”
“I’m excited for now.”
“Now?”
I turn into him and lower my voice.
“Once this house clears out? Free use, Luciano.”
His smile grows slowly. “Oh, is that what’s happening?”
“Yes.”
“You’re making demands now, princesa?”
“Oh, hell yes. I’m trying to release all my inhibitions tonight.”
He chuckles. “As if you have any left.”
Rude.
I’m about to tell him exactly that when something catches in the back of my mind.
I look toward the foyer again.
“Wait.”
Luciano’s hand stays at my waist.
“Where’s Valentina?”
His expression changes. “Probably still angry with me.”
“Angry with you is fine, but where is she?”
He glances toward the thinning crowd.
“I haven’t seen her since the ceremony.”
Neither have I.
“I saw her talking to Vasilisa earlier.”
“Yeah?”
“But Vasilisa left early with Santo.”
“She’s about ready to pop. I’m surprised he let her stay this long,” Luciano chuckles.
I scan the room again.
No lilac dress.
No Valentina.
“That’s weird.”
