I consider that.

“When you say it all together, it does sound excessive, but my girl is high maintenance.”

“Says the man with a skin-care routine.”

“It’s an excellent routine.”

She laughs and shakes her head. “You’re ridiculous.”

“And yet.”

She throws her arms around my neck.

“And yet I’m marrying you.”

I hold her against me. “That was the plan.”

Chapter 64

Elena

Ican’t stop looking at my ring.

It’s gorgeous.

My fiancé is gorgeous.

And I can think the word fiancé without wanting to curl into a corner.

I get to marry the man I want.

Those words are practically foreign in our world. I could jump. Do a fucking flip.

Maybe not in these heels.

Definitely not in this dress.

If we can even call it a dress. Narrow straps of black glittering fabric cross my body, strategically covering all the important parts before fastening behind me with tiny hooks sewn into their ends.

There are more hooks than dress.

It seemed appropriate for Obsidian’s grand reopening.

I styled Luciano to match me. His deep-purple silk shirt fits perfectly across his shoulders, the collar left open and the sleeves pushed back along his forearms. A harness made from the same glittering black fabric as my dress passes over his shoulders and circles his torso twice before disappearing around his back.

Black trousers complete the entire unfairly gorgeous situation.

He let me dress him like this, which felt like an excellent idea while we were still at home.

Now other people can see him.

Huge mistake.

He looks too fucking good to be here. I tuck myself closer against his side.

Luciano’s fingers press into my waist.

“You aren’t watching the scene you wanted to see, princesa.”
