“Obviously?”
“You put Elena Castillo on my office door before you even asked me.”
“I was confident.”
“You’re insane.”
“You’re marrying me.”
“I am.”
I kiss her before she can say anything else.
Her arms wrap around my neck, and I pull her against me until she’s half in my lap on the floor.
When she draws back, her gaze finally drops to the ring still resting in the open box.
She blinks. Then looks closer.
“Wait.”
I already know that tone.
“Is that Harry Winston?”
“Yes.”
Her eyes widen. “Five carats?”
“Five point five.”
“Luciano.”
“Do you like it?”
She looks back at the ring. “It’s perfect.”
That is the only part that matters. I lift the ring from the box.
“Give me your hand.”
She holds out her left hand, and I slide the gold band onto her finger.
It fits exactly as it should.
Elena stares at it, turning her hand slightly as the diamond catches the light.
Then she looks past me toward the open office door.
“You put my married name on the door before you proposed.”
“We’ve established that.”
“You made me an entire floor.”
“Yes.”
“And bought me a five-and-a-half-carat Harry Winston ring.”
