“To pack.”
I stare at him. “Pack what?”
“Everything you want to keep.”
My heart hammers in my chest. “Where am I going?”
“Down the hall.”
“That’s not packing. That’s relocating.”
“Yes.”
Luciano crosses to the closet and opens the doors.
I watch him pull one of my suitcases from the top shelf and place it on the bed beside my sketchbook.
“Luciano.”
He unzips it. “Princesa.”
“What are you doing?”
“Moving your things into our room.”
My heart stops.
“Our room?”
He looks at me as though the answer should be obvious.
“Yes.”
I glance around the bedroom.
The clothes hanging in the closet. My shoes lined beneath them. Cosmetics scattered across the dresser.
“So I’m not just sleeping in your room.”
“No.”
“I’m moving into it.”
“You are. This is a guest room.” Luciano removes a stack of folded clothes from one of the shelves and places them inside the suitcase. “You are no longer my guest.”
My heart performs one painful, embarrassing little flip.
His mouth curves as he reaches for another stack of clothes.
“Last night, I put my name on your list,” he says. “I’m not leaving your belongings in a room down the hall while you sleep in my bed.”
Luciano stops packing and steps closer.
“I want your clothes in our closet,” he says. “Your things in our bathroom. Your pencils scattered across every surface despite the containers I’ll buy to prevent it.”
“I use containers.”
“You place things near them.”
