I kissed his temple. “I’ll even massage your feet while you do it.”

He moaned. “God, your mouth. I was wrong; it’s definitely heavenly.”

“Come on,” I said, carefully taking the books from him and putting them on a side table. “We’ll come grab them later. I want to show you my bedroom.”

Ethan’s tongue slicked his bottom lip. “Is that an offer?”

“Do you want it to be? I thought you wanted to see where I live before we ended up fucking again. Your words, not mine.”

He lifted his chin defiantly as he stepped up, toe to toe with me. “Then maybe you should show me your bedroom and then we can fuck in it.”

I gave a low growl before bending down. Before he could utter a word, I had him up and over my shoulder. Ethan squealed as I marched him the short distance to my bedroom. I didn’t stop, taking him straight into the en-suite.

“Bathroom,” I said, turning in a neat circle before taking him back out. Next, we stopped at my walk-in wardrobe. “Wardrobe.”

We went back into my room, stopping right in front of my bed. “Bedroom.”

“I see,” Ethan said, barely able to contain his humour. “Am I allowed to see the bed, or just admire your arse? Not that I’m complaining. It’s a fantastic arse. The best I’ve ever seen.”

I flipped him over my shoulder, dropping him gently onto the mattress. His face was alight with laughter as he bounced. I grinned down at him, utterly captivated by the joy lighting him from within.

“It’s a nice bed,” he said coyly, still smiling. “Think it’d be better if you joined me on it.”

“Nah,” I said, reaching down to tug him onto his feet. “Thought we’d test out how sturdy my desk is instead.”

Ethan’s giggles gradually turned to moans.

And the desk turned into kindling.

SAM

I’m working but I’m bored. Want some company? We can work together.

I’ll bring cookies.

Asmile lit up my face at the sight of Sam’s messages. Over the past few breakfasts, I’d found myself getting closer to him. At first, we’d bonded over photography, but then we’d discovered a shared love of gaming. He’d put me onto this one he liked to play called Creator. I’d accumulated several hours of game play already, curled up on Rami’s lap while he read. He’d made good on his promise of foot massages when I finally stopped to read the books I’d borrowed.

All in all, I’d been spending a lot of time with Rami. And I couldn’t have been happier about it.

Today though, he was busy with something at the house, which was why I was so glad to hear from Sam. I got to my feet and stretched before wandering into the living room. As usual, Quill was reclined on the sofa, a bowl of Krave balanced precariously on his chest.

I cleared my throat so as not to startle him. “Hey, do you mind if Sam comes over?”

Quill dragged his eyes away from the old season of Below Deck playing on the TV. “Course not, I love Sam. He’s great. You don’t need to ask, by the way. This place is as much yours as it is ours.”

I shuffled my feet. “Still, it’s polite.”

“Because we’re all so polite here.” Quill snorted. “But thanks, it’s appreciated.”

I laughed as I returned to the dining room, which I’d set up as a little workstation. Quill was right, politeness was the last adjective I’d use to describe my housemates. Sure, they were friendly and considerate to me, but they took no prisoners when it came to tearing each other a new one. Just this morning, Dahlia had threatened to disembowel Quill for leaving crumbs on the stove.

I thought she’d been joking.

Hopefully.
