She cleared her throat. “Well, hypothetically, yes. Though, of course, if we were to have sex again, and again, you’d orgasm each time. And then you would instantly get hard again, because I’d still be touching you. It’s a vicious cycle that only stops when the shimmer subsides.”
A broad grin spread over Wesley’s face. “I wouldn’t call it a vicious cycle. I’d call it paradise.”
“You would, wouldn’t you?”
Wes tipped his chin up. “So you’re saying this is only for those in a serious relationship.”
She nodded.
“You asked me earlier whether what I said in the garage was true.”
“Yes?”
“I’m afraid that when I said that I was falling in love with you, I wasn’t being entirely truthful.”
Her breath hitched, and her heart stopped. She knew it had to be too good to be true. She braced herself for the blow to come, her chest tightening.
“I’ve already fallen too deep and too hard.” He slid his arms around her and pulled her closer. “Virginia, I’m hopelessly in love with you. There’s no halfway, no doubt. I was fooling myself when I thought that I still had any control over my heart. I don’t. It belongs to you. Whether you want it or not. And I’m not gonna give up until you feel the same. I don’t care how long it takes, or what I have to do. But I’m never gonna pressure you to do anything you’re not ready for. You don’t have to share the golden shimmer with me. Just make love to me like we did last night. I don’t want anything else. Just you in my arms.”
She felt tears well in her eyes. She couldn’t have hoped for a more sincere declaration of love from Wesley. Her heart felt like bursting with the emotions she never thought she could express. But Wesley made her brave.
“Wesley, what if I wanted to pour my virta into you? Would you let me?” A tear rolled down her cheek.
“Let you? Tonight?”
She nodded, too choked up to say anything else.
He lifted her into his arms and spun them both in a circle until she thought the entire world was spinning around them. His eyes sparkled a vibrant blue, more vibrant than she’d ever seen them. When he stopped turning, he pulled her head close to his.
“Are you sure, babe?”
“I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life.” Just as she was sure of her feelings now. “I love you, my wonderful witch.”
“Make that insatiable witch.”
She laughed, but Wesley cut off her laughter with a kiss.
