“Here I am, dressed to ride, and you didn’t ride your bike today,” she said.

“You look so good. I didn’t have the heart to tell you.” I laughed as I opened the door for her. After closing the door for her, I walked over to the driver’s side and climbed in. Rory had her arms folded over her chest.

I reached over and gave her a kiss. “I’ll bring the bike next time. If you wanna ride tonight, there’re bikes at the clubhouse, ya dig?”

“I think I’m good,” she said with a chuckle.

I shook my head as I pulled out to the spot. As we drove, I stole glances at her. She pulled her hair into a bun, giving me the perfect view of her face. When she grew tired of whatever was playing on the radio, she connected her phone to the Bluetooth and played Nipsey Hussle. From her fit to her taste in music, I knew I had a keeper with Ms. Rory Towns.

A while later, we pulled into the gate at the clubhouse and parked. Rory looked around, taking in her surroundings. There were a couple of people outside, but none of any significance. I hopped out of the car, pulled up my pants, and then walked over to her side. After I opened the door, she got out. I took her hand and led her inside.

There was a party going on, which wasn’t unusual for the clubhouse. I gave a nod to everyone that called out to me. Dobbs and Curry could be anywhere, so I headed to look for Gavin. Rory held my hand tightly as we walked through the crowds of people until we reached Gavin’s office space.

Gavin’s office had a lot of different computer stations. He had views of our entire property and my cigar lounge. It was our security hub, after all. There were floor-to-ceiling cabinets inside that held our stockpile of guns, machetes, and various knives.

I knocked on the door as Gavin focused on the screen before him. He eventually turned around and saw Rory and me.

“What’s good, bro? Who’s this?” he asked.

“Gavin, this is Rory, my lady. Rory, this is Gavin, my bro,” I said, introducing them.

“Nice to meet you, Rory.” Gavin said.

“Nice to meet you as well,” Rory replied with a smile.

“Rory is having an issue. I need Dobbs and Curry on a security detail until we handle the issue. I brought her by to meet them,” I explained.

“Oh, aight. Let me call them. Their greedy asses probably went to get something to eat,” Gavin said.

I stayed and chopped it up with Gavin for another ten minutes before Dobbs and Curry appeared. They held bags from the local smash burger spot.

“What’s good, Brick?” Dobbs said as he entered the office.

Curry gave me dap before he walked over to his station.

“I need y’all help. This is my ol’ lady, Rory. She needs a security detail, starting tomorrow. I need y’all to keep an eye out while she’s at work and at her crib.”

“Nice to meet you, Rory. We got you, bro. She’ll be in good hands with us,” Curry said.

“Nice to meet you both,” she said.

Dobbs gave her a nod because he was busy stuffing his face.

“I’ll text y’all the addresses and time I need y’all. Good looking out,” I said as Rory and I left the office.

I walked around the clubhouse, giving Rory a tour. Big Will spotted me while we walked around the crowded lounge area. He walked up on me and playfully threw punches at my chest. When we stopped playing, I caught my breath to introduce him to Rory.

“OG, this is my ol’ lady, Rory. Rory, this is Will.”

“It’s nice to meet you, Will,” Rory said.

“Now, Brick, you’ve got to tell me how your ugly ass managed to get this beautiful woman not to run away from you,” Will teased.

“OG, you know better than that. Ain’t nothing ugly ’bout me. Stop clowning me in front of my lady,” Aasim replied.

“Nah, all jokes aside. It’s nice to meet you, Rory. You’re as beautiful as Brick said you were.”

“Thank you so much,” she said with a smile.
