Henderson blew out a breath and Zack wanted to laugh. He thought it was over.

“We’ll make sure that everyone on the street knows you’re working with us now and giving us information.”

Henderson began shaking his head, “No, you can’t, they’ll kill me.”

“I’m afraid I can, and I will. Come on, up you go. Time to go home.” Pulling the man to his feet, they dragged him out the door reluctantly as he shouted and protested.

“No, you can’t. I’m a dead man if you do.”

“Stop fussing Elliot,” Kanan hissed as Zack walked out of the room.

“You! This is your fault. Why couldn’t you leave it alone?” Henderson said as he threw himself at Zack. “You’ll pay for this. I know people too. You’re all going to die even that pretty piece behind you,” he spat and started to laugh.

Zack saw red and grabbed Henderson by the throat and threw him to the ground, before planting a fist in the man’s face.

“Don’t ever fucking threaten me, you piece of shit.” Hauling back, he hit the man again before Drew and Kanan dragged him back.

“Leave it, Zack,” Kanan said.

Zack watched, breathing hard as Drew picked the man up and half carried him to the front door.

“You good?” K asked as he placed a hand on Zack’s shoulder.

“Yeah, go get him away from here.”

Zack turned and saw Ava, with a look of fear on her face. Holding out his arms she rushed into them. “Sorry, Green Eyes. I should have kept my temper. But he threatened you, and I saw red.”

“Really, Zack, I didn’t notice.” she muttered.

“Are we fighting?” he asked with a grin.

“No.”

“Shame,” he said looking forlorn.

“What?”

“I was looking forward to make-up sex,”

“Zack!” she laughed, “It’s three in the morning.”

“So!”

“So, I have a son that gets up at six!”

“Damn,” he said as he kissed her head.

“If I don’t get some sleep soon though, I’ll stay mad all day and then we can have make-up sex tonight.”

“Good plan, Green Eyes. Let’s go home.”

They were halfway home when the call came. It was a call that would change so many lives forever.
