“Why thank you, Roz, we would love your help!” he said with barely contained laughter.

“You think you’re so clever, don’t you Zack?” she said through gritted teeth, anger evident on her face. Anger was not an emotion he enjoyed seeing on Roz, as she had a vicious temper.

They both turned as Kanan shouted. Moving closer the three of them watched as K slowly lowered the man who he had up against the wall, holding him there with his hand around his throat.

Elliot Henderson looked terrified as K allowed him to sit.

“Typical man using brawn over brain. Fine, Zack, what do you need?” Roz said as she continued to stare with distaste and loathing at Kanan.

Zack smiled. “I need Hamilton’s home and car bugged and tracked. I want camera feeds and sound. Ask Will for some gear. We need to know what he’s up to.”

“Fine!” With that Roz turned on her heel and left the room, Angel following behind with a little farewell wave at Zack.

Zack turned back to the two-way glass window. Ava came in quietly and stood beside him as they watched.

K was good, but not as good as Zin, not that Zack would ever say that. Thoughts of Zin made him uneasy. He hadn’t heard hide nor hair from him since the meeting in the Cathedral.

Shaking free from thoughts of things he couldn’t control, he concentrated on the room beyond.

Drew was standing against the door, arms crossed over his ridiculously muscled chest. Kanan was sitting opposite a bedraggled looking Henderson.

“Where is the doctor?” K said quietly.

“I don’t know.”

K shook his head in disappointment.

“What do the Divine Watchers want with the Relic of the Holy Blood?”

Henderson looked shocked for a second but recovered quickly. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” he denied casually.

“How about an easier one. What is your association with Hamilton?”

“None. I just know him from functions and stuff. You have nothing on me.” Henderson seemed to be feeling more confident with his answers from the tone of his voice.

Zack shook his head and felt Ava beside him as she inhaled.

“Bad move?” she asked.

Zack nodded, “Yeah very.”

“You’re right, Elliot, I can call you Elliot, right?”

Elliot Henderson shrugged.

“So, as I was saying Elliot, we don’t have much, except, oh I don’t know. Pictures of you with known Russian criminals, bank accounts that link back to your shell companies. Evidence of corruption and tampering with MHRA documents, blackmail of government officials. Shall I go on?” Not waiting for an answer, Kanan started putting pictures and documents on the table.

Elliot Henderson now had sweat dripping down his face, and he looked like he might pass out. Zack thought they had him then.

“Last time, motherfucker,” K growled and pulled out a knife and began to play with it. Henderson looked at the knife and visibly paled, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he swallowed.

Zack saw the moment they lost him. Henderson was terrified, and it wasn’t them he was afraid of. Zack keyed the mic and spoke to K through the earbud he wore. “Tell him we’re releasing him.”

“I don’t know anything, honest.”

“I don’t know anything, honest,” K mimicked in a girly voice, that made Zack smile.

“Okay Henderson, if you don’t know anything we’ll let you go.”
