“Maybe, I should give you a chance to speak the fuck up. You know my patience is short and-”

“Mattea let me-” Kachella stood up as I gave her a hard glare shutting her up.

“Sit yo ass the fuck down and shut the fuck up Kachella.” My voice went in a high octave.

“As I was say, Hakeem, my patience is short.” I watched Kachella sit back down. She started biting her nails out of nervousness.

“I look at you like a brother, but that shit can change in a matter of seconds. My little sister is sitting on your fucking couch with a black eye and more bruises than I can count. She has on the shirt I bought you last Christmas. Now I ain’t all that smart, but it doesn’t take rocket science to see it’s some twisted shit going on in this bitch.” I took my gun off its safety. “Is this the woman, you been head over hills for not telling me who had your attention? Was it my fucking sister Hakeem?”

“Reaper listen,” he started but I shook my head no. If anybody knew who much I hated a pleading muthafucka was Hakeem. I didn’t have the patience nor sanity to wait for the inevitable to happen. My trigger finger was itching and that crazy voice in my head was raging.

Shoot this mutha fucca! He been playing you this whole time while beating on your fucking sister!

I was starting to struggle with gaining control over myself.

“Yes and no Mattea.” He sadly stated and when his eyes hit the carpet, I knew that he betrayed me. I let off a shot directly to his left shoulder knocking him off his feet. Kachella hopped up and ran to his aid. When she struggled to place her body over my heart clenched. She was trying to protect her abuser. I was about to end Hakeem, anger was taking over me and my vision started to become blurry from the tears welling up in my eyes. Hakeem’s betrayal would haunt and hurt me for a long time.

“What the fuck is wrong with you Mattea! He didn’t do this to me! My boyfriend Tre did!” she blurted out fast while still covering Hakeem. He remained quiet but his face was etched with pain. “Tre is a pimp and I thought he loved me! He beat and raped me plenty of times.” She sobbed harder, damn near knocking me off my feet. My baby sister was raped and beat on? I pulled a cigarette out and sparked it, taking a seat on Hakeem’s couch as he struggled with trying to sit up. He looked at me with sadness and I diverted my eyes off him while I silently hit my cigarette. I heard him talk to Kachella and it sounded so lovingly. I never heard Hakeem talk to any female like how he was talking to my sister, and I couldn’t believe it.

He told her to go get his first aid kit as he yelped and grunted trying to pull the bullet out of his shoulder. We were trained for shit like this in case we ever got shot while being on a high-profiled mission. Once he got his self under control, he placed his eyes back on me.

“Mattea, I been feeling your sister for a while, it just ended up happening. I never slept with her although I came close to doing so. I found out she was stripping at a club and would go watch her and make sure she was straight. I stopped doing that shit when I caught her doing drugs and fucking with that fake ass pimp.” He went continued talking and filled me in on everything that had taken place. I was stunned and in shock that my sister went through all the shit that I had learned about. I was also hurt that Hakeem didn’t tell me what the fuck Kachella was into. I could never tell my father that his baby girl was out here stripping and getting beat and raped. That shit would send him off the deep end and crush him worse than it was doing me.

“I got to be the one to kill him, have you looked into him,” I asked as I thought of different ways on how I was going to go about torturing this nigga.

“Yea, I’ve been looking into him even went by the address your sister gave. Nigga relocated but I know his hoes is still local. I was thinking about letting shit die down, make him feel like he got away with what he did like Kachella didn’t tell anyone.”

“I get it.” I said sitting up to ash my cigarette inside of his ashtray. Kachella walked back into the room and handed Hakeem his first aid kit. He took out the stuff he needed to stitch himself up and started the process.

“It’s been a couple of days already, go snatch three of his main hoes up and tie their ass up. First, we hit his pockets and then his hoes will lead us right to him.” I smiled. Nodding his head, Kachella looked at me like I had two heads.

“As for you, I can’t believe you would stoop so low for some money when daddy gives you anything you want. I hope this taught you a valuable lesson. You don’t have to worry about me snitching on you because daddy doesn’t need any more triggers.” She nodded her head and looked relieved, but I wasn’t done.

“There are stipulations to that though Kachella. I see how this nigga Keem is talking to you and how you keep looking at him. I get it, I truly do. He saved you, so now you’re willing to risk your life for him.” I thought back to how she used her body as protection to cover Hakeem. “Let me tell you this though before you love a nigga, you got to love yourself and get your confidence up. You can’t go from depending on a pimp nigga to now depending on a man that sleeps with multiple women to stroke his own ego because he knows he has the power and looks to have any woman he wants.” I looked at Hakeem as I spoke and even though he looked pissed with what I was telling my sister, he had no choice but to respect it.

“Your grown so I can’t stop you.” I used the same line my dad used on me. “However, I want you to get in counseling talk to someone about your problems and get the proper help you need so you can see more clearly and find yourself like I’m trying to find myself. If I find out, you not getting the proper real help you need to heal from this traumatic experience you went through then I will get our dad involved and make him lock your ass in a room like he just recently did me.” She nodded her head up and down fast and came over to where I sat and hugged me. I embraced her back and remained strong. The truth was, I was crushed at what she had gone through. My only comfort was knowing that I would avenge what had happened to her.

Letting her go, I stood to my feet and looked at Hakeem. I didn’t know how to feel toward him. I was grateful that he helped my sister but pissed that he withheld all this information from me. We had a hard stare-off until I broke eye contact with him choosing to not say shit else to him for the moment. I left out his front door and made it back to my car and allowed my emotions to spill through my eye sockets.

Chapter Twenty

REAPER

I made it back to my house at night, after leaving Hakeem’s house I went to a bar and took down a couple of shots. Making my way up to my front door, that eerie feeling came back to the pit of my stomach. Pulling out my nine-millimeter, I unlocked my front door and walked into the darkness. I smelled his strong cologne before I turned my light on. Flicking the switch upward, I was greeted by Ream sitting comfortably on my sofa with a smile plastered on his face. Solo, appeared from my dark hallway as his tall bulky frame walked to take a seat on one of my bar stools.

“I hate to just pop up surprising you like this, but I had another mission for you to take. Since all this snake shit is going on within my organization, I thought to come to you and tell you this personally.” Nodding my head, I kept my gun secured tightly in my hand until I took a seat across from him and sat my gun down next to me. I didn’t view him as a threat, he just had a weird way of handling things.

“You looking real good. I see you still rocking sneakers and Levi jeans like the niggas do. It’s good to see you doing better.” I cleared my throat and smiled at his sarcasm. I loved rocking jeans and sneakers, and I didn’t give a fuck how anyone else viewed me.

“I wanted to get your personal number to thank you and Solo for helping me out the other day. I really appreciate y’all for how you handled the situation. I had been missing doctor’s appointments and didn’t know how fast another episode would hit me until I got another refill.” It felt like I was rambling. I heard Solo grunt as I watched Ream lick his thick lips while unbuttoning his suit jacket then removing his gun from his inner gun holster that he had on the inside of his suit jacket. Placing his gun on the coffee table, he picked up a yellow thick folder that had my name in cursive.

“No need to thank us for doing what real gentlemen are supposed to do for a lady in need.” He drummed his fingers on the folder. Something about this visit didn’t feel or seem right.

“As you know I have a big enemy and a small-time enemy. My big enemy is Armando who has been serving a small-time enemy named Debo. Debo recently hit my shipment causing me a big amount of money. My biggest problem with that situation is who put Debo onto my overseas trip and gave him Armando’s number to start doing business. Don’t fret over that because I’ve already figured out who the leak was for that.” He reassured me as I relaxed in my seat a little. I didn’t understand why he wanted me so involved with his drugs and guns side of the business. Before he continued to speak my front door opened, I grabbed my gun and pointed it in that direction. Looking back over at Ream, he had an unreadable face expression as he looked at the door. In walked to big guards, they stood on each side of the door.

A short beautiful chubby woman with blue bright eyes walked in next like she was royalty. Her choker blue diamond necklace sat perfectly on her neck, matching her blue diamond earrings. She had on a sky-blue two-piece suit that showed a little cleavage with high healed expensive shoes gracing her feet. The power leaked from her pores as she looked me over with a pensive stare.

“So nice of you to join us mom. I wonder what daddy would say if he knew you were out roaming the streets this late.” I looked between the both of them and frowned. This was the legendary Rellianah Powers. She didn’t look like she could be anyone’s momma. Her face looked youthful and when she smiled it brightened up the room. She never took her eyes off me. Holding her hand out, her guard hurriedly took out some hand sanitizer and put a big amount in her hand. She rubbed her delicate hands together not caring about the amount that fell onto my carpet. Nodding her head towards me, that same guard approached me and held the hand sanitizer out. I allowed him to place some in the center of my hand as the other guard closed my front door.
