“I guess I can’t believe that all these people are here to support me for real,” my voice cracked. “I never imagined it.”
“Well believe it…after everything you’ve been through; you deserve it too. The freedom that you were looking for is in this Honey Boo. If all else fails which I know it won’t… this is something you have put in place for yourself to fall back on. A huge chunk of independence that no one can take away from you,” he affirmed.
I absorbed every word Balani spoke and accepted it because I never looked at it like that. This coloring book was all me, along with the YouTube channel I set up and the people here to support me. If me and Luca drifted apart, I had my own back. I had an overflowing amount of money in my bank account to take care of me and Novae.
The door burst open so hard it slammed against the wall. Balani’s hand went right to the small of his back. Seconds later, he had a pearl handled gun in his hand.
“You pulled that out of your ass?” My eyes widened before I stifled a laugh.
“The ass is a secure place to keep it, Honey Boo.” He winked.
“ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?!”
Both of our eyes flew to the door and there was Serenity. She looked absolutely ridiculous in the best way possible. A cream-colored pantsuit hugged every curve of her body perfectly. Her gold heels clicked against the floor with every angry step she took. She had honey blonde curls that fell down her back and past her chest.
“Renity!” I cheered, feeling my heart skip a beat.
I didn’t realize until now just how bad I missed her dramatic ass. I moved around Balani before she could finish one of her famous rants and threw my arms around her.
“Girl!!!” I yelled excited.
She hugged me back; we squeezed each other so tight, a breath escaped me before I inhaled sharply. She pulled back and looked me over.
“You look the fuck good!” She smirked, fanning away her tears.
“So do you.” I complimented back, swallowing my own emotions.
“We all do, chilllee,” Balani interjected.
We all shared a wholesome laugh then gave each other room to breathe. Serenity’s eyes were the first to shift. I already knew something was bothering her before she even opened her mouth to speak on it based upon how she barged up in here.
“Who is the tall, big bitch standing next to my man out there?” She snapped her eyes toward the opened door.
All we could see was the empty dark hallway, voices still drifting inside of the room we were standing in.
“What are you talking about?” I frowned.
Serenity folded her arms across her chest and rolled her neck.
“Roy got some tall, big bitch with sister locs on his arm tonight… who the fuck is she?” She asked again, eyes glossing over.
“Renity—”
“Roy is not your man, chilleee, the delusion.” Balani rolled his eyes.
I bit into my bottom lip; I didn’t want to laugh in front of Serenity since it was clear that she was in her feelings. Her and Balani’s friendship happened overnight, and I loved that for the both of them since they were a lot alike in many different ways.
“Wait, Roy is here?” My stomach fluttered when reality dawned on me.
If Roy was here, then that meant Luca wasn’t too far behind.
He came! My heart skipped a beat.
“Yes, his fine chocolate ass is here, and I am about to have a nervous breakdown.” She gasped then clutched her chest dramatically.
“God help us all,” Balani muttered.
“He looks so fucking good,” her voice cracked. “I could fucking cry.” A low sob escaped her mouth.
