“Okay.” I started to walk off but she said, “Hey, I love you.”

Leaning down once more, I gave her a deeper, still short, kiss and some folks whistled. Standing, I grinned as I walked off to find Hammer.

Bama was walking down the hall. “Hey, he said meeting room. How you doing, brother?”

“I’m fine.” I rubbed my wrist. When the chair went down, the cuffs pinched me a little. “I appreciate you. Allie told me you’re the reason y’all came looking for me so fast.”

He shrugged. “Old Lady tells me to do something, I do it. Glenda knew something was wrong, so they sent me. But for real,” he said as he smacked my shoulder. “Brothers before all else. Glad it all worked out.”

“Those ladies have some good instincts.”

Bama chuckled. “Or some really shitty ones. I’m still fucking pissed at Allie.”

“Oh, I’m not happy Glenda was in the middle of this shit, but somehow I think she needed it.”

“Maybe,” Bama said. “But what they did was still dumb.”

“Very, but I’m probably not gonna word it like that when I talk to her about it.” I was going to talk to her about it. We got lucky it worked out and they weren’t dead. But she couldn’t do shit like that. Especially since Hammer told them to hang back. Allie was chatty as fuck on the way to the clinic, but more in a fuck-him sort of way than just telling me the story. But Glenda knew it sounded bad because she kept trying to get her to shut up. But she also gave the run down on what led to them finding me.

We headed to the meeting room and several officers and a few members were there.

Hammer motioned for us to take a seat. Once I was situated, he said, “Alright. No casualties for RMBC. I don’t think that place was a clubhouse for them. Just a hideout.”

Froggy said, “Agreed. But they were using it for something. Why else would they be going over there?”

We’d tracked a few of them to that place a few nights back. Skeeter and Runt told us it was a possible spot, so we’d checked it out and sure enough, saw some Scorpions heading in.

Froggy shrugged. “We hadn’t gotten inside yet. Planned to go out tonight, in fact. But this fucker over here had to get snatched up.”

“Definitely wasn’t my plan when I swung by the house,” I told them.

Hammer leaned in his chair. “Did that crazy bitch say what they wanted?”

Shrugging, I said, “She made it sound like she was in charge.”

They all laughed.

“I dunno man.” I clapped my hands together lightly. “She said she had the money. She was the bitch Reggie was promised, from what she told me.”

“Oh shit. Their VPs sister. And you took him out, too, that night,” Rogers said with a nod.

“Yep. Lady. But Glenda called her Lydia.”

Hammer said, “Yeah. Breaker has all their info. We’ll dig into why she at least thought she had control of the money.”

Rogers chimed in. “Maybe it wasn’t club money. Maybe it was her brother’s and she got it when he died?”

“Maybe, but nothing like that turned up on his research.”

Bruno, our treasurer, spoke up. “It’s easy enough to hide money if you want and have the means to do it.”

“We took out at least ten tonight, including this Lady,” Bama said.

“Glenda took out Lady,” I interjected.

Hammer said, “Don’t fucking remind me. These women are out of control.”

“They found me first was the story I heard,” I said.
