I shook my head, chuckling. “That’ll only make it worse.”

“Onyx.” She rubbed her lips on my neck. “She’s hard on everyone, including me, so you’re going to have to win her over.”

“Then we’re going to have to get married.”

“That’s three times.” She giggled, making my cock twitch. “The Devereauxs and the Belladonnas uniting as one?” Wiggling her eyebrows, she taunted, “What would the council say?”

“We’re bound by blood, you and I. I’m sure they’re already expecting it. Two legacy families coming together will make their dicks hard.”

“You’re talking like you’ve already asked them.”

I cocked my head to the side. “I don’t ask for anything.”

“I see…”

“What do you think we’re doing here, baby? Playing house?”

“I’m loving you, and you’re loving me.”

“And what do you think that’s going to lead to?” Gripping the nape of her neck, I questioned, “Have you not been paying attention? Hear this, and maybe it will make sense to you. I don’t do anything half-assed. It’s all or nothing with me. You understand?”

She arched an eyebrow. “Onyx, are you asking me to marry you?”

“No.” I kissed her. “What you and I have goes deeper than marriage. It’s not a vow that we say in front of people. It’s already been written into our destinies. Time, distance, death, it doesn’t matter… I’ll find you in every lifetime, Hennessy. You didn’t curse me, you saved me.”

Fresh tears swelled her eyes. “How do you always know what to say?”

“Because I only speak the truth.”

“Well, just so you know.” She smiled wide. “I’m not changing my last name. I’ll hyphenate it.”

“Are we done with your game?”

Pleased with herself, she remarked, “For now.”

Unable to hold back, I flipped us over on the boat, hovering above her. She watched my every move as I reached into the pocket of my shorts and pulled out a diamond ring.

She slightly gasped as I slid it on her ring finger.

“What are you doing?” she asked, her gaze blazing with fire.

“What it looks like.”

“And what’s that?”

Without thinking twice about it, I vowed…

“Claiming what’s mine in every lifetime.”

Epilogue

Hennessy: The end or is the beginning…

“Oh my God!” Deja exclaimed, grabbing at the back of her tank top. “There’s a fucking bug on me!”

I laughed, swiping it off her. “It’s not poisonous. You’re fine. I told you not to wear that perfume out here because it would attract them.”
