She turned the shower on and grabbed my hand, pulling me over to her.
"One day, I'ma have your babies, Ozy."
I looked away, and she sucked her teeth.
"Oh, I'm not?"
"Uncle Ozy, can I have—"
I heard King's little voice start to say, and I shouted, "Wait, King, don't come in here! Uncle Ozy and Auntie Ginger have to get dressed."
"Okay."
"I'll be out in a few, aight?"
"Okay," King responded.
I sighed, looking up at the ceiling.
I still wasn't used to this shit. Being responsible for a kid. Waking up and hearing little feet outside my bedroom door. Having somebody asking me what was for breakfast, where his iPad was, if I could tie his shoes, or why he couldn't have candy at eight in the morning. Having to think about somebody other than myself before I made a move.
I wasn't used to none of it.
But I was learning.
I stepped into the shower behind Ginger, letting the hot water hit my back while she stood underneath the spray, rinsing herself off.
"Soo, are you just going to ignore what I said?" she asked.
I smirked and grabbed the soap.
"One day, I'ma have your babies," she repeated, this time louder than before. Her petty ass even leaned over and said it into my ear.
I glared at her. "I heard you."
"And?"
"And what?" I kissed my teeth.
"Ozyris."
"Ginger."
She stared at me, waiting on some type of answer I didn't have for her. We talked about this, and I wasn't about to do it again, especially on my fucking birthday.
I kissed Ginger's forehead. "You ready for Costa Rica?"
She rolled her eyes, but eventually, she smiled. "Yeah." Gin looked at me for another second before turning back around.
I wrapped my arm around her waist from behind and pulled her against me.
"Don't start acting funny on my birthday."
"I'm not acting funny, babe."
"You are."
"I'm not."
