“Fuck, Lyra, your pussy feels amazing,” Zachary praised, capturing my lips with a searing kiss. “I knew I had to wait for the others to fuck you because, honey bear, I’m gonna need to sample all your body has to offer.”

I moaned as his lips wrapped around my nipple and sucked harshly, only to soothe it with a stroke of his tongue.

“Holy shit, what did you just do? She’s gonna crush my dick with how tight she’s squeezing,” Fawn grunted, his thrusts faltering for a moment. “Fuck, I’ve got a lot to learn.”

“Don’t worry, Fawn. I have a feeling it’s going to take us a lifetime together to learn all there is about this sweet, perfect Omega,” Zachary assured Fawn as he held my gaze with his own before sweeping in for another kiss.

Zachary was dominance, fire, and passion, making it so easy for him to sweep you away. His heady scent of evergreen and leather had me picturing what it would be like to be out in the woods, naked, sprawled out on a blanket as this man claimed what was his. In a way, I wondered if he pretended to be the chill guy I’d met or if this caring beast of a man was his true self. Either way, I was happy to sip tea all snuggled up on the couch and then be ravaged in his bed at night—best of both worlds.

A scream of pure ecstasy burst out of me as Fawn latched onto my neck, sucking on his mark. I thrashed between their bodies, but it didn’t slow them down. If anything, it spurred them on. Just when I thought I was going to shatter, they came, knotting both my holes and making me question if I was going to be split in two. Thankfully, it never got that far, not that I was truly concerned about it, but damn, did I now know what a stuffed turkey felt like.

“Rest, honey bear,” Zachary crooned, kissing me lazily. “We didn’t go easy on you but fuck if you didn’t take us like a goddess. How could anyone deny that you were created for us? The perfect piece to our puzzle that reveals the true masterpiece our lives can be with you in it.”

I hummed, soaking up his words and preening under his touch as he traced my face with his fingers.

“Lyra, when your heat is over, will you move in with us?” Zachary questioned. “I know now is a stupid time to ask when you can’t even walk away. Yet the truth of the matter is, I don’t know that we could survive if we had to leave you here. Just thinking about it feels like my heart is being torn out of my chest.”

Searching his expression, I knew he was being sincere in his request. I’d already concluded that I had no choice but to move in now Fawn and I were bonded, but I adored this man for asking. Zachary was doing everything in his power not to disregard the fact I’d been on my own most of my life. He wanted to give me the ability to say yes and mean it. My bond with Fawn was oddly quiet, as if he were blocking his emotions from me. I shouldn’t be surprised since he’s already bonded to three other people and figured out how to manage them. It didn’t really matter since I didn’t plan on saying no.

“Yes, Zachary, I would love to move in with you and the guys,” I answered, meaning every word with all my heart. It was time I stopped lying to myself and allowed for the chance to be happy with my pack.

Soon, I was in the middle of a rather happy puppy pile of purring Alphas being showered with kisses and gentle touches. I still had a long way to go when it came to my emotional and mental health, but this was a good start. It felt like someone had finally handed me the key to the cell I’d trapped myself in, and now it was up to me to unlock the door and let myself free.

As Dr. Barnett kept telling me, the only time a person can make real progress is when they’re ready to admit they might need help along the way. No one can win a battle that might last a lifetime if they don’t have others there to hold them up when they get weak. Strength isn’t based on what you can handle on your own. It’s waking up each day, getting out of bed, and knowing you can face whatever lies ahead because you’re not alone.

God, Elora was going to have a field day when I told her I was not only moving in but already bonded to a pack member. The thought of our bond had me grinning to myself, and I felt the soft brush of Fawn’s joy echoing my own as we napped, surrounded by our pack. What blew my mind was this was how things could be every night for the rest of my life. The idea seemed so vast it was hard to accept, like looking at the ocean and believing somewhere on the other side was another country full of people looking back at us. Logically, it made sense, but standing there on the beach, it felt impossible. I suppose it’s the wonders of the world we’ll never understand, but having experienced it, I wouldn’t change a damn thing.

When I was freed from Zachary and Fawn’s knots, I took a long, deep breath, knowing my heat was over. It had been on the shorter side, but I had a feeling the change had something to do with my matched Alphas being the ones to help me through it. With other heats, they’d always been enjoyable, but I’d never felt… satisfied. Right now, I only wanted to shower and then stretch out in the sun like a cat who’d had far too much catnip.

Slipping out of bed, I took a moment to steady myself before wobbling my way to the shower. One thing I’d instantly loved about this apartment was how big the bathroom was. Two people could easily function in it, even though it only had one sink. There was enough counter space for two, but I rather liked the ability to spread out. I turned on the shower to warm up while I brushed my teeth twice. Then, I made the mistake of looking in the mirror and gasped at my reflection.

Who could possibly think that I looked remotely attractive right now? Einstein might be able to pull off the I-just-stuck-my-finger-in-a-light-socket look, but I certainly could not. I considered brushing it before I got in the shower, but I felt a few crispy spots that had to be dried, and I didn’t really need to determine what it was.

Steam billowed out of the shower when I opened the glass door, meaning it was the perfect temperature. I walked straight into the cascade of water, letting it run down my body and start soaking into my hair. The water felt magical on my sore muscles, reminding me just how passionate my pack was when it came to sex. Lucky for them, I was an Omega willing to try anything at least once. How could you know if you did or didn’t like something unless you gave it a shot?

The door to the shower opened, and a waft of cool air rushed in, making my skin prickle. I looked over my shoulder and found Zachary. “Mind if I join you?”

Smiling, I shook my head. “Not at all.”

His shoulders sagged in relief, and he opened the door, bending down to grab something. Curious, I watched as he unfolded a small stool and stepped closer to place it behind me. “Please sit. I’ll wash your hair for you.”

The Omega in me softly sighed at how sweet this gesture was. However, I also felt guilty since my hair was such a disaster. “Are you sure?”

Zachary frowned and caught my chin, forcing me to look up at him. “I’m absolutely positive there isn’t anything else I’d rather be doing right now than taking care of you, honey bear. Now, will you be a good girl and do as your Alpha asked?”

While my heat might be over, it didn’t mean some lingering effects weren’t still present. How else could I explain how his words made me ready to bend over and beg to be his good girl? Eager to please, I sat down as instructed while he switched the water from the overhead shower to the handheld attachment. Zachary stood behind me, cupped my jaw, and tilted my head back to the angle he wanted.

His strong fingers massaged the shampoo into my hair, and there was nothing I could do to stop the moan from coming out. I never considered what it would mean to have a highly skilled barber as a lover. Zachary knew just how much pressure to use as he confidently turned me into a boneless mess. Just when I thought I was going to melt off the damn stool, he rinsed out the shampoo only to do it a second time. When it was time for the conditioner, I swear I left my body behind, swept away by the blissful feeling of being loved not through words but actions. This wasn’t simply an Alpha taking care of his Omega, Zachary was doing everything in his power to show me that I mattered to him.

If you’d asked me if I were worried Tanner or Zachary might always have stronger feelings toward Fawn, I would have said no. Yet some tension I’d been holding onto relaxed as I realized there truly wasn’t anything to worry about. My fear stemmed from a pack I thought I loved but never felt confident they loved me back the same way. No matter how hard I tried, there always seemed to be insecurities I couldn’t soothe. Now, I was dealing with a pack who’d already been together for a few years but made sure to take the time to reassure me before I knew I needed it.

“Fuck, this is just perfect,” Zachary muttered as he started to rinse out the conditioner.

When he didn’t expand on his statement, I decided to take a chance and coax it out of him. “Miss work that much, hmm?” I asked in a teasing tone.

“Not even a little bit,” Zachary laughed. “Don’t get me wrong, I love my job, but it will always come second to my pack. Jobs come and go, but the family I’ve been blessed with, there’s only one of them. I realize that might sound old-fashioned, and not everyone feels the same way, but I never want you or any of the others to say I wasn’t present in their lives.”

“I love that. My fathers were the same way. Of course, when their company grew bigger and forced them to travel more, it couldn’t always be helped. Yet I didn’t resent them because I knew, without a doubt, they’d much rather be home with us,” I shared.
