Chapter fourteen

Sorin shifted, so he was now leaning against the wall and tucked a leg up by his chest, the most relaxed I’d ever seen him. “I planned to reach out to Savo, see if he could be of any help and what he had in mind to get Dani’s friends out of Asturg. That will help me know if we need to hide Lucian for a few days and report back to base or not.”

I could tell Lucian wasn’t thrilled about that choice, and Sorin glanced over at him. “Look, it’s not my first choice. The simple fact is we need to maintain any and all pretenses that things are fine. That nothing went wrong with the manhunt, and the North is not an issue. If there was a way I could keep us all together, I would.”

“What about having him hide out with my mother?” Cris offered. “He would be closer, protected, and no one would dare to enter that home without permission.”

That had me tensing, not at all liking the idea of endangering his mother. Even though she hadn’t told me her whole story, it was clear her life hadn’t been easy.

“I will keep that as an option, but I would prefer to try something that won’t have any backlash on an innocent,” Sorin said, helping me to relax a little.

“Don’t worry about me,” Lucian cut in. “I was hiding out near the base for a week, and no one ever noticed. My specialty is sneaking into places and not getting caught, but first, it might be smart to see what my dearest brother has to say.”

Sorin sat silently for a while, stroking the scruff on his chin. I could feel how intensely he was considering everything, and I remember Toma once mentioned this was a typical occurrence with Sorin in tough situations. Our leader wasn’t one to make quick, snap decisions if he had the time to think it through.

“Truthfully, I should just call him now and see what he has to say. Regardless of the answer to helping us, he’ll still need time to pull off the rescue,” Sorin announced as he rose to his feet and headed out of the bunk room.

I wasn’t sure if he would come back, but no one else seemed to feel the need to follow after him, so I stayed where I was. Victor’s fingers stroked along my hip, sending tendrils of heat spreading from my leg right to my pussy. A moan, almost more like a hum, escaped me as I nuzzled against him. This feeling wasn’t as strong as the bone-deep need I’d been experiencing. It was more like intense desire. I wanted to feel him, to be connected to him in the most intimate way possible. Although, if I’m being honest with myself, I wanted to feel what those piercings were like rubbing inside me.

Reaching down, I freed his cock from his boxers and directed him to my entrance. Shifting around until he glided into me, giving me that sense of fullness as the jewelry added a new enticing sensation. Wrapping both arms around my body, he hugged me to his chest burying his head in the crook of my neck and purred. Gasping as his deep rumbling purr turned those damn piercings into vibrating pressure points that hit all the right spots. Lazily I rolled my hips, not really trying to ride him, more to feel all of him in every way possible. He seemed to be on the same wave link as me, understanding that this was more than just sex as he rocked slowly in and out of me. This bear of a man was always trying to protect me and keep me safe, treasuring me above all others but this pack. I got the pleasure of seeing this vulnerable part of him. Not every time would it be like this if the way he fucked my mouth was any indication. Still, it was nice to have this moment.

Sorin rejoined us with the satellite phone, then paused at seeing Victor and me. “Ah…”

“Make your call,” Victor said, practically ordered. “My Little Spark will be able to keep nice and quiet like the good girl she is. I’ll just have her keep my cock nice and warm until the conversation ends, and I can make her come.”

My mouth suddenly went dry with how shocked and turned on I was. Would Sorin actually do it? Everything in me knew Vicky wouldn’t just let me sit here while Sorin was on the phone. He was going to test just how quiet I could be while another Alpha was on the phone, who was also Lucian’s half-brother. Sorin’s gaze flicked to me letting his eyes drink their fill of my naked body and Victor’s cock buried balls deep inside me.

“This should be interesting,” Sorin muttered, then shifted his attention to Lucian. “Are you okay with this?”

My admiration for Sorin increased tenfold at the fact that he would take the time to ask Lucian that. How the fuck had I found myself such good men who were willing to put in the effort to make our dynamic work.

“Don’t worry, the second I think she’s getting too loud I’ll have something that I think will manage to keep her quiet,” Lucian answered, and the smoldering look he gave me told me exactly what he was planning.

Getting the answer he needed, Sorin entered the number and put the phone on speaker so we could all hear it ringing. “Interesting how no one asked me how I felt about this little stunt,” I muttered.

“Little Spark, if you didn’t want to play my game, you’d be out of my lap faster than a lit fuse. We all know good and well that if you don’t want to do something, you give zero fucks in letting us know,” Victor chuckled.

I was going to share a few more choice words, but then a man answered the phone. “Hello?”

“Hello, my name is Sorin. I’m a friend of Savo’s. Is he there?” Sorin asked.

“He’s here…somewhere. Let me go find him. Things have been a little crazy around here since our son was born. No one is getting much sleep, and things are falling through the cracks. So if you had a meeting set up with him, I’m sorry he didn’t reach out,” the man rambled, the tiredness in his voice adding to his words.

“Congratulations on the healthy birth of a child. I’m sure the lack of sleep is worth it,” Sorin said with a small smile on his lips.

“Spencer, why are you talking on my encrypted cell phone?” another man demanded.

“Huh? Oh… well, he said his name is Sor—“

“Stop,” Savo ordered. “Please take Dalton back to Cambrie. I just finished changing him so she could get a shower.”

“Oookkaaayy,” Spencer responded, clearly not pleased with being cut off. “Come here, little man, we’ll let grumpy Daddy-S take his important phone call, keeping all the secrets to himself. Don’t worry. I’m sure mommy can get it out of him later.”

“I told you Daddy-S isn’t gonna be a thing. It’s Otec,” Savo yelled, then sighed heavily. “Hello?”

“It seems I called at a bad time,” Sorin commented.

There was a deep grunt on the other end. “With that little wonder now out in the world and not in the safety of her womb, I’m not sure anytime will be good. Fuck, man, I had no idea how becoming a father was going to fuck with my head so much. I nearly shot a delivery driver when he walked up to me as I was working in the garage, thinking he was coming to take my kid.”
