Friday

Aubrey: Sorry. I got busy. It’s up to you. I can go with you if you want.

Brody: I’ll tell him maybe. It’s still quite a ways away.

Monday

Brody: You’re flying from Orlando to Key West with me, right?

Aubrey: No. Saturday is Summer’s birthday, and I promised her I’d go out for dinner and drinks.

Brody: Okay. I’ll find you a flight from Gainesville.

Tuesday

Aubrey: Why did I get an email with first class airline tickets?

Brody: Because first class is way more comfortable. The seats are bigger. More legroom.

Aubrey: First class?! That’s too much.

Brody: Aubrey, it’s no big deal. Let me do this.

Aubrey: Fine. *eye roll emoji*

Brody: Wow. I’m shocked you didn’t argue more.

Aubrey: I’m too tired to argue. Plus it’s your money not mine.

Aubrey: Thank you, Brody.

Brody: You’re welcome.

Wednesday

Brody: Any last-minute things I should know? Got the itinerary. Quite a schedule.

Aubrey: Tell me about it. Are you still sure you want to do this? You can back out if it’s too much. I’ll tell everyone you got sick and couldn’t come.

Brody: I told you I’d be there for you, and I will.

Thursday

Aubrey: Thanks.

Sunday

Aubrey: I cannot wait until this wedding is over.

Brody: Anything I can do to help?

Aubrey: No, but thanks.

Chapter ten

Aubrey

I fall into seat 3B on my flight to Key West. I barely made it in time to go through security, use the bathroom, and find the gate before it was time to board. I misjudged what it would be like driving through downtown Gainesville on a Monday morning to get to the airport and got stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic. If it hadn’t been Summer’s birthday on Saturday and we had plans to go out for dinner and drinks, I would have opted to spend the weekend in Orlando and fly out with Brody.
