CHAPTER FOUR
…
It didn’t take them long to reach Dil’s cabin. It was on the very edge of the town, no other dwelling nearby. Rafe turned not the long, winding driveway, gravel crunching under the tires. They had made it out of the town with no incidents. If you didn’t count the three naked nymphs running through a small glade they had passed on the way.
Dil’s cabin was indeed isolated, surrounded by dense forest on three sides an overgrown field on the other. Rafe made Nora stay in the car as he checked to make sure no one was around. As he did, however, Nora saw a strange haze making its way toward the cabin, like a slithering snake.
“Rafe,” she yelled, climbing out of the car, and heading inside.
“What?” He was at the door immediately and she felt her heart clench. She knew without a shadow of a doubt that he would protect her from anything—or die trying.
“There, see?” She pointed to the other side of the cabin at a large field where the haze was gathering.
“Shit,” he growled. “The spell.”
Nora nodded her head. “Yeah, I think it is.”
He grabbed her shoulders. “Do you think you can do a protection spell?”
Nora drew in a deep breath. “I think I can.”
Rafe placed a steady hand on her shoulder. “Go head, sweetheart. Do your stuff.”
Nora smiled. If only it were that simple. She raised her hands and began chanting. Soon, a whitish crisscross of lines appeared around the cabin. It was like a huge spider had woven a web and engulfed the entire structure.
“That’s amazing, Nora.” Rafe stood and admired her spell.
“If it will hold.” That was one of the problems with her spell casting. The ones that worked—only worked for a little while. Then they collapsed.
“It will.” Rafe took her hand, squeezing it softly. “Now, let’s see what inside.”
Nora laughed, following him inside. “Knowing Dil, we might have been better off taking our chances in town.”
The living room was normal looking. A couch, large, overstuffed armchairs, a television. One wall was lined with bookshelves and the floors were adorned with dark, plush rugs. There was a fireplace on one wall. It was quite spacious, remarkable large compared to the footprint. Nora wondered if there was some camouflage magic going on. The area opened up to a kitchen with black appliances and a surprising amount of cabinets.
“This is unexpected.” Nora strode further into the room. Curiosity had her opening the two doors in the back. One was a spacious bathroom and the other was a bedroom. She opened that door and stopped. It was a very large room with an appropriately large bed. Leather restraints were attached to the headboard and footboard. A sex swing hung from the ceiling. Various toys—vibrators, plugs and floggers—along with lubricants and a large assortment of glass bottles filled with glowing liquids were arranged on a table beside the bed.
As her eyes grew accustomed to the dim lighting of the room, she found more intriguing items. A gleaming St. Andrew’s cross dominated one corner, its polished wood and leather straps beckoning to Nora for some reason. Beside it stood a spanking bench padded for comfort and equipped with cuffs and restraints.
Nora let out a soft laugh. “Well. Someone’s prepared.”
“Quite the collection,” Rafe blinked at the display, cock hardening, his nostrils flaring as he took in the room. His eyes met Nora’s and noted her breathing had turned slightly erratic. While his mating instincts were pretty basic, he knew he’d enjoy experimenting with Nora. It seems as if she was having the same ideas.
Was it the mating heat, or the spell?
He really didn’t care, he just knew it would be fun to find out.
“Your elven friend is—”
“The town manslut,” Nora laughed, trying to sound nonchalant. She couldn’t ignore how Rafe’s presence amplified the erotic atmosphere, making her skin tingle with anticipation. She stepped back out of the room and closed the door. It was going to be difficult enough to keep her hands of the sexy wolf without these enticements.
“So…what now?”
Rafe’s gaze lingered on her, the piercing blue color smoldering with unspoken desire. She could see the outlie of his dick beneath his jeans. Heavens, the man looked huge.
“Maybe we should make dinner?” Nora suggested, her voice wavering slightly. She needed a distraction before she gave in to temptation. And Rafe’s muscular form was testing her resolve.
“Sounds good,” Rafe said, tearing his eyes from her with visible effort. “Let’s see what Dil has stocked in the kitchen.”
