"Make it a large and we can talk."

The whole table burst into laughter.

A few minutes later, I glanced down at my phone and saw the time. “Damn, I gotta go. Kyrie waiting on me.”

Mama nodded. “Alright, baby. Tell my son I said hello.”

“I will.”

I looked down at the baby still sitting comfortably in my lap. “Come on, pretty girl. Auntie Kai gotta go.”

She grabbed the front of my shirt and laid her head against my chest like she wasn’t trying to hear none of that.

I laughed. “Don’t do me like that. You know I’ll take you home with me.”

Talia smiled and held her hands out. “Come on, spoiled girl.”

I kissed the baby’s cheek before passing her back to Talia. “Auntie Kaior love you.”

She gave me a gummy smile and reached for me again. “See, that’s my baby.”

Talia laughed. “Girl, go before Kyrie start calling. Stink. Say bye-bye."

I grabbed my purse, and hugged Mama. “Love y’all.”

"Love you too."

"Drive safe."

"I will."

I made it halfway to the front door before Chanel called out behind me. "So, is he at least fine?"

I turned around laughing. "Girl..."

Armani answered for me. "Fine ain't even the word."

Chanel's eyes got big. "For real?"

"Oh, he definitely looks the fuck good, sis," Armani said. "That ain't the problem."

"So, what is?"

"The problem is..." Armani pointed at me. "Little Miss Faithful over there got a whole boyfriend."

"I do."

Chanel looked back and forth between us. "So y'all saying if she was single..."

"CHANEL!" Mama snapped.

"What?!" She threw both hands up. "I'm just trying to understand! I can't wait to go to college. Ugh! This house is stupid."

"What you said?" my mama asked her.

"Nothing. I said goodnight, sister."

"Lying ass," our mother responded.
