Indie was moaning like a broken record, the same sound over and over, her hands gripping the sheets.

Finally, I came, my whole body tensing as I emptied myself into the condom. I pulled out immediately and stood up, disposing of the condom in the trash by the bed.

I grabbed my clothes and started getting dressed in jeans, a t-shirt, and some Jordans. Indie was watching me from the bed, her chest still heaving, her body covered in sweat.

I pulled out my burner and shot off a quick text to one of my soldiers, telling him to post up outside the crash pad. Just in case Indie somehow made it out of the house without my knowledge, which she wouldn’t. The place was fully secured. I had locks on all the doors and windows, alarm system, cameras. She wasn’t going nowhere.

“Where you going?” Indie asked, her voice stillbreathless.

“Handle some business.”

“What kind of business?”

I looked at her like she was stupid for even asking that question. Did she really think I was about to tell her my business?

“I’ll be back,” I said, tucking my phone in my pocket. “Don’t try to leave. You won’t make it far.”

Her face screwed up. “So you’re keeping me hostage?”

I walked over to the bed and leaned down until we were nose to nose. “You the one who offered yourself up. You shouldn’t have done that if you wasn’t ready to follow through.”

“Get the fuck out of my face,” she said, her voice hard.

I wanted to slap fire out her ass for disrespecting me like that. My hand actually twitched with the urge. But I held back. I didn’t make it a habit to put my hands on women. And I didn’t have time for this bullshit right now. I had to go handle this situation with the shipment.

I’d deal with her ass later.

I straightened up and walked out of the room without another word.

An hour later, I pulled up to the warehouse. Kenzo was already there, standing outside with a few of our soldiers. I saw Wes, the nigga Indie had hit with her gun, standing off to the side with a bandage on his head.

I got out of my SUV and walked over to them. “Talk to me.”

Kenzo stepped forward. “Like I said on the phone, some niggas tried to hit up the shipment. We was ready for it though. Killed all three of them and got the product to the safe house.”

“Good.” I looked at the soldiers standing around. “Y’all did good protecting that shipment. But we got a bigger problem now.”

They all looked at me, waiting.

“Somebody gave those niggas the drop. Had to be somebody on the inside. Somebody who knew the route, the timing, all of it.”

The tension in the air got thick. Nobody wanted to believe there was a traitor in the crew, but the math was simple. Them niggas didn’t just get lucky. They had inside information.

“We need to find out who the fuck is running they mouth,” I said, my voice cold. “I want every nigga who knew about that shipment questioned. I want to know who been acting different, who been talking to people they shouldn’t be talking to. Ya’ll got it?”

They all nodded.

“Get on it. Now.”

The soldiers dispersed, leaving just me and Kenzo standing there.

“You got any ideas?” Zo asked once we were alone.

“Wes,” I said immediately.

Kenzo’s eyebrows went up in surprise. “Why you say that?”
