Violet
C’mon Gray, where’s your Halloween spirit?
Me
If I wasn’t friends with your brother, I wouldn’t be going to the Halloween party tonight. I’d be at home, watching TV and stuffing my face with candy
Violet
Ah, that sounds fun
Me
Are you being sarcastic?
Violet
No, I’m being serious
Me
Since when are you ever serious?
Violet
Oh, shut up!
Me
Makeme, Prescott
Violet
Maybe I will, maybe I won’t
Me
Guess I have to wait until your maybe turns into a yes
Violet glances at the back of Blake’s head before she turns to face me for a brief moment. Eventually, she shifts her gaze towards the window.

If she dresses up as a devil or something tonight, I’m so screwed.

VIOLET
I pull into a parking spot at Tidal Wave Arena. I’m still not used to how big the arena is. It’s larger than life.
The exterior is coated in a color similar to the sea with the arena’s logo placed in the middle of the building in white towards the top. The fact that I can see these things is amazing because it feels like I’m parked miles away.
Turning the engine off, I take my keys out of the ignition and put them in my purse.
