“Asleep, we didn’t want them to see Dynamo and Vogue playing with these assholes. Gonna make them feel everything their victims did. Slasher will heal them so that they scream about the torture, but there’s no physical evidence,” Warden declared. He was looking for a fight.
“Kinda makes the point moot,” Jude said.
“Not when Romeo locks this into their minds. Then he’ll ensure they confess all their fuckin’ crimes. These assholes are going down. Money won’t protect them,” Warden promised.
“Get me a list of their victims. I bet at least half aren’t in the country. You’ll need us to rescue them,” Jude announced.
“Only need my club,” Warden drawled.
“Nope. What we are is allies in this. I was hired to find a girl and bust a trafficking ring. You guys, as far as I’m concerned, are extra. My client doesn’t have to know about you, nor does anyone else. Now, this is going to go as you planned. We’ll let you guys walk away, and we’ll call this in. Stagger the confessionsfrom these fucks; if they all confess at once, then it’s suspicious. Make it come from a place of shame. Have Winson break first and make him a blathering mess. Then these can say his guilt led them into acknowledging their own,” Jude stated.
“Yeah, but ensure they’re aware they’re doing this against their will. Just like their victims were. And before they confess, have them sign everything they own over to their victims. Ensure it’s split equally between them; that way they can’t afford their fancy lawyers to wriggle them out of this,” I added.
Warden swapped glances with Dynamo, Undertaker, Blister, and Romeo. “We can do that. But first, we want every drop of information we can get. Gotta liberate their victims from whatever slave labour they’re under.”
“Totally agree. Can’t your guy get into their thoughts and memories? Once he’s done that, give them to your girl. I say she’s owed this,” Jude agreed.
“Truth,” someone intoned, and I turned and saw a former prospect, Soul. His eyes were locked onto Jude.
“Tell me you aren’t going to blackmail us to use our abilities,” Warden growled out.
“Nope. I’m curious, but I’ve no interest in using you,” Jude answered.
“Truth,” Soul stated.
“What’s with him?” I asked.
“Soul can sense lies.”
I frowned. Was that even a thing? “I’ve killed ten men.”
“Lie.” Soul grinned. “You’ve killed more.”
“I’ve never killed in hand-to-hand combat.”
“Lie.”
“I’m not attracted to a woman.”
Soul’s grin grew bigger. “Huge fuckin’ lie.”
“You’re an asshole,” I said.
“Truth.”
Warden nodded and offered a hand. “We’ll work together on this. See how shit pans out. But I don’t trust you.”
“Rightfully so. And make no mistake, I feel the same,” Jude shot back, shaking it.
“You wanna hang about and watch? Dynamo’s gonna get nasty if she only has a few hours to play.”
Jude glanced at me. “These women suffered this shit. We should bear witness.”
“Call the team in,” I agreed.
Jude nodded, although he watched the Royal Bastards warily.
Dynamo continued torturing Winson, and his screams made me wince. But I wouldn’t back down. Something told me that Dynamo was enacting what had been done to her. These fucks deserved everything they got.
