“I don’t need—”
“Relax. Just enjoy it.” The slow touch of Ody’s fingers soon made his eyes drift shut.
A notification buzzed, breaking the moment. Ody sighed and grabbed his phone.Anna: Baby is everything okay? Where are you?
“Shit…” Ody muttered. “Time flew by.” He looked at the screen again, the reality of where they were hitting him all at once.
Mano opened his eyes. “We should go back.” He sat up and reached for the door.
“Wait.” Ody grabbed his wrist, making him turn back. He cupped Mano’s cheek and kissed him gently, slowly. When he pulled away, he stayed close, smiling. “Let’s go.”
They returned to the restaurant, Mano uneasy about what the others might say. But Ody told him to leave it to him. Then, with effortless confidence, he explained the supposed issue with Mano’s brother, and the group continued their meal without suspicion.
“Wanna take a walk to the port?” Anna suggested and everyone agreed.
“I didn’t know you had a brother,” Ranya said to Mano as she fell into step beside him.
Mano sighed.
“What’s his name?”
“I don’t wanna talk about him.” He shot her a warning look.
“How old is he? Does he live in England?”
“I told you to drop it, didn’t I?” Mano snapped, his voice louder.
Everyone stopped walking.
“What’s going on?” Christina asked, turning back from a few steps ahead.
Mano glared at Ranya before turning away and continuing down the street. Ody watched them, frowning. Ranya looked angry, but there was hurt in her eyes too.
By the time they returned to the hotel, everyone had gone quiet. They said a quick goodnight before heading to their rooms.
“Last swim tomorrow, huh?” Anna asked as she and Ody stepped inside their room.
“Yeah,” he said. “I was thinking we could explore the island a bit. Maybe find a remote beach for a swim.”
“Yeah, that sounds great. Let’s make it a mini trip,” she said, grabbing her shorts to change.
When she came back, she slipped under the sheets and moved closer to him, pressing two kisses against his bare shoulder while he scrolled through his phone. “Come on, put that away,” she said, reaching for it.
“Hold on.”
Anna climbed on top of him, straddling him, taking the phone from his hand and placing it aside. Her lips moved to his neck.
Ody tensed. “Anna…”
She kept kissing him, her breath warm against his skin.
He let out a quiet sigh, already uncomfortable. He placed his hands on her shoulders, trying to push her back. “Anna.”
She brushed his hands aside and kept going.
“Anna, stop. I’m not in the mood.”
“I’ll get you in the mood, baby,” she murmured, as her hand slid lower.
