He laughs. “You never listen to country music.”

“It’s not my favorite, but I listen to it every now and then.”

“Do you think Greer listens to country music?”

With my hands on my hips, I spin to face him, completely flabbergasted at his line of questioning.

“You sure are full of questions today,” I say, my eyes snapping to the window as Greer walks through her room. She’s not looking this way, but the emerald-green dress she has on makes my breath catch in my throat.

“I’m just curious.” He jumps off my bed and runs out of the room.

Kids are weird.

I finish getting ready, and I’m just down the stairs when there’s a knock at the door.

The front door hasn’t even shut before I’m spinning Greer around, pushing her against the wall and pressing my lips to hers.

“Stay the night tonight,” I say between kisses. I’d planned to ask her at the reception, but seeing her right now—well, now works.

She moans.

“You know I can’t.”

“You can. You just won’t.”

“What if Grey sees me?”

“Then he sees you.”

I hear the bathroom faucet running upstairs, so I know Grey is busy and won’t be down for a few more minutes.

I take advantage of our free time together and kiss Greer again. This time, I let the kiss linger, my tongue sliding over her cherry lips to mingle with hers. I love that her mouth always tastes like wintergreen. It’s a sweet treat when I kiss her, and I’ll never look at mints the same way again.

Her hands thread into my hair, tugging as what I planned to be a few sweet kisses to greet her turn into something more desperate. Kissing Greer is like nothing I’ve ever experienced. It’s like the first time every time, and I can’t get enough of her.

Feet race down the stairs, and she pushes me off her.

She’s hanging her jacket on the hook behind the door by the time Grey makes it down the stairs.

“Greer!” Grey yells and then bombards her with a hug. “Do you know how to tie a tie?” he asks.

What’s going on with this kid?

“I do. My mom taught me,” Greer answers proudly.

“Oh.”

I see the wheels turning in his mind, but before I can say anything, he says, “My dad is going to teach me.”

Greer glances at my outfit, her gaze taking a slow perusal of me from head to toe. She winks.

“Well, it looks like he knows what he’s doing, so you’re in good hands.”

Grey looks between us and smiles before running back to his room without a word.

“Is he okay?” she asks on a laugh.

“I think so. He was asking me about his mom a little bit ago.”
