We locked eyes, and it was enough to send me over the edge. I came with a cry, untouched, not even once taking my eyes away from my man. Dagon followed me a few thrusts later. I felt his cock emptying inside me, and my insides warmed with the knowledge of having his cum inside me.

“Thank you, my heart,” Dagon said between tender kisses. His cock was still inside me.

“For what, my demon?”

“For giving me this. For seeing me and staying. For loving me.”

“There’s no need to thank me, Dagon. I love you.”

“I love you, too.”

He pulled out slowly, and I held back a whine. With frighteningly fast movements, he went to the bathroom and returned with a washcloth. He cleaned both of us, and I fought the tears that threatened to fall since he was so gentle with me.

Dagon smiled, and I knew my love for him had no limit. No limit had the things I would do to keep him safe too. I may be afraid of many things. I may be a mess most of the time. But one thing about me?

When I love someone, I would go to lengths unknown to most to keep them safe.

Fear goes out the window. Strength comes through the door. No one was taking away that smile from Dagon’s face. No one was hurting my demon. And never again would he be alone.

After cleaning me up, he crawled back into bed and wrapped me in his wings.

“Is this okay? I’m lying over one of your wings.”

“It’s perfect.”

“I’m not hurting you?”

“No,” Dagon kissed my forehead, “it feels right to wrap you like this. Let’s lie for a bit. I want to soak in this precious moment.”

Dagon retreated his horns so he can lie comfortably and I learned he has power over which parts of his demon self to let free.

I wanted to soak in this precious moment too. I didn’t want us to leave, but I knew we had to soon. My thoughts drifted yet again to what-ifs and scenarios where something happened to Dagon. No! Please, no.

Like he could sense my distress, Dagon tightened his arms around me and kissed me tenderly. I sighed in the kiss because it was what I needed.

I love you, I whispered in my mind. And I lost myself in the taste of the man who had my whole heart.

Chapter twenty-eight

Dagon

Morning came too soon. I wanted nothing more than to stay in bed, to keep memorizing every inch of him, and to hold him close.

What we shared yesterday was something I never thought I'd have. The feeling of my cock buried in him, the sounds of his moans, and the look on his face when he came, those moments were forever engraved in my memory.

But it wasn't just the physical. Our bodies were connected, they fit like they were meant to, and it was my heart that soared in ways I couldn't begin to explain. I'd never felt anything so complete.

I dreamed of staying wrapped in that warmth for days, but reality had other plans. We were back on the road, and I wasstarting to hate it. Diablos was tired from everything. All I wanted was to be home, to have Di safe.

Home? Well, that was out the window now. There was no way King would welcome a demon with open arms. Even if said demon was his son. An angel having a demon as a son? I snorted at the thought.

“What are you thinking about?” Di asked.

“Just thinking about everything,” I said, raising our intertwined hands and kissing his knuckles.

Ever since I let out my powers, Di seemed more relaxed. He said he trusted me, right? At least I was glad I could give him that. I will keep him safe, no matter what.

Di bounced in his seat, and I arched a questioning brow.
