“Hide in the bathroom,” Theo hisses.
Suddenly, Maximus grins. “No need. Fee-fi-fo-fum, I smell the blood of a Kormovian…” He leaps up and pulls the door wide.
Alexis stands on the other side, and, shocker, there’s a big frown on his face. “What are you both doing here,” he hisses, hurrying into the room.
And then he pauses, looking like he can’t believe his eyes.
But his eyes aren’t lying.
Our Tee-Tee is splayed across the mattress, dressed in white lace lingerie that cost a fortune.
And a white bridal veil on her head.
“What?” he croaks.
I get up and grab him a beer. He looks like he needs it. “Ordered some stuff for Tee to try on. She needs an outfit for the fire and ice party.”
“And she’s wearing that?” The expression on his face is too close to disgust for my liking. When I see how crushed his words make Theo, I want to smack them right out of her mouth.
“She looks like a goddess, you fucking prick.” I swirl around and point at my baby. “A fucking goddess.”
Thankfully, Feniks pulls himself together. “Yah, yah,” he agrees, sounding more Kormovian than usual. “But I don’t want anyone to see her like that…only us.”
That’s fair.
“I’ll be wearing a dress, you idiot,” Theo sighs, sadly getting off the bed where she’d been laid out like a beautiful pussy-buffet. “Dono bought this stupid veil and I was trying it on as a joke.”
“Not a joke, Tee. I’m going to marry you.”
“What? How come you get to marry her?” Max whines like a big baby.
“Because.”
“Because? That’s not a reason.”
Grinning, I move closer to Theo then run my tongue up her face.
“Eww, Donovan."
“You’re mine now,” I tell her. “Rules of licking.”
“I’m not a slice of cake.”
“No, babe, you are far more sweet and delicious.” I turn back to Feniks. “So stop being a dick.”
He blinks several times, then shakes his head as he sinks into an armchair.
Theo takes off her veil and slips into a robe. “What’s wrong?” she asks him. “Something’s happened.”
That immediately changes the game. “What happened? Is Tee in danger?” I say, while pulling a T-shirt over my head. Max does the same.
“The dean saw me in my gryphon form.”
Shit. On. A. Stick. What does that mean? “Do we have to…” I make a finger-slicing-neck motion.
Theo throws a cushion at me. “Let him speak. Go on.”
“It was strange. My gryphon led me to her, he obviously knew she had important information for us.”
