“Come on,” I said as I grabbed her hand.
“What?”
“Yes, come on.”
The crowd was still clapping and cheering, and when Harvest and I walked onto the stage, they got even louder.
This whole time, people had been speculating, and it was time to make it known to the public.
Miami hugged me, then Harvest, before she passed me a mic and ran off the stage. Harvest and Miami had met a few weeks prior and had hit it off.
Harvest had all the confidence in the world behind the camera and even when she entered a room, but this was different. We were in front of thousands of people screaming. I felt her hand tremble in mine.
I marveled at the love they showed us for a minute before I raised the mic to speak. It took a minute for everyone to quiet down.
“I just came out here to say thank you all for always riding with Brooks Records. We appreciate the love. Also, I know there’s been some speculation about my relationship, and even though it ain’t nobody’s business.” The crowd laughed before I could continue. “Aight, aight. In all honesty, I have no problem sharing certain things about my life. And with that being said, I officially want to introduce Mrs. Harvest Brooks.”
More cheers and applause vibrated the stage’s floor. Harvest smiled and waved at everyone.
I let go of Harvest’s hand, and she looked like she didn’t know what to do.
“Before I get out of here.” I reached into my pocket and pulled out a black box. When Harvest noticed, her eyes widened. The crowd screamed again when I lowered to my knee. Opening the box, I held it toward Harvest. Her eyes watered as she looked down at me.
“Harvest, I know things with us were unconventional from the start.” I chuckled. “But I’m here today, in front of the thousands of people in this room and the thousands of people watching from home to ask you a very important question. Harvest Brooks, will you marry me again?”
She nodded her head. I moved the mic toward her mouth. “Yes!” Her response made the crowd cheer again. She blessed me with a megawatt smile that made my heart skip a beat as I slid a new ring on her finger.
I knew she liked the original ring, but I knew she wasn’t feeling that it was supposed to be for someone else. I spent a few weeks designing a new ring specifically for her. Once the ring was on her finger, I stood, and we shared a kiss in front of everyone. I knew the video would go viral, and I didn’t care. I wanted the world to know that Harvest was mine and how much I loved her.
Once the concert was over, Harvest and I had gotten something to eat, then went back to my house. She hadn’t taken her eyes off the new ring since I’d placed it on her finger. And she hadn’t stopped smiling since.
“Let me play something for you,” I told her as she entered my music room.
She had taken a shower while I handled some business. Her hair was piled on the top of her head, and she wore a Cozy by Lana pajama set with furry slippers. Once I saw how the pajamas fit on her, I told her to get every single set that was made.
Harvest walked toward me, and I couldn’t take my eyes off her. I loved watching her walk no matter the direction she was going in.
When she got close enough, I lifted her up and placed her on top of the piano.
“How are you feeling?” I asked, before I sat back on the bench.
“Like I’m on top of the world.” She smiled widely.
I leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on her inner thigh. Her signature scent filled the room.
“Good. I want you to always feel like that,” I told her. “I never want you to feel anything but happiness. The minute you feel otherwise, let me know so I can fix that shit.”
She ran her fingers through my hair.
“I want you to feel the same, Boston.”
“As long as you are by my side, I will. Now, relax so I can play for you.”
Sometimes I liked to play around with different melodies on the piano, and I came up with one that made me think of Harvest. I had even written a few words, but more than likely, I would give them to one of my artists.
Harvest and I stared at each other as I played.
“You made me so happy when you became my wife that I had to ask you twice,” I sang. Harvest giggled because I wasn’t a good singer at all. I continued the few words I had come up with, then just let the melody play.
