“I damn sure am.” I giggled, but my laughter was cut off when Boston crashed his lips into mine.

Our kiss turned hot and heavy, and the next thing I knew, we were on the couch with my skirt pushed up and my panties pushed to the side. Boston wasted no time sliding inside of me and making love to me as he whispered how much he loved me in my ear.

The day had been filledwith meetings and preparations for a concert a few of my artists were putting on. The new girl that I signed, Chasity, had fit in well with the other artists, and it was her official debut. I was excited about introducing her to the world. One of her first songs had a feature with Miami, and I knew the ladies would love it. It was the perfect summer anthem, or something they could vibe out to on their way to the club. I was proud of my team, and I knew things would only get better.

“I’ve been meaning to ask you. Have you heard from your ex?” Harvest asked as we rode to the venue.

“I have. She showed up at my house one day, and I told her what it was and to never contact me again.”

“Hm.”

I glanced at Harvest, but I couldn’t read the look on her face. I hadn’t mentioned it because it wasn’t important.

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing is wrong. I guess I’m just wondering why you didn’t tell me.”

I reached for Harvest’s hand and kissed the back of it before I dropped our hands to the middle console.

“I didn’t say anything because it was irrelevant. She didn’t make it past my gate. I said what I had to say, and that was that. I haven’t heard from her since. I blocked her phone number, and from my social media pages. My apologies for not bringing it up, but it just wasn’t important to me. If you want me to tell you these things, then I will. Nothing is going to come between us.”

“I get it. And I’m not tripping; I just was curious. She sent me a message on social media, but I ignored her.”

“Block her ass. She has nothing of substance to say. She blew her chance, and now she’s jealous that I moved on. And I’m happy as hell I did.” I winked at her.

I told Ivy that I would make her life hell if she contacted Harvest, but since Harvest wasn’t bothered by her, I’d let her off the hook this time.

“Me too.” She blushed.

The month and a half that I had been with Harvest had been the happiest time of my life. Business was good, and my lady was doing well. Another artist had reached out to do a video, so she was in the process of preparing for that. She also had some new modeling gigs coming up. We both were busy, but we always made time for each other. Even if we couldn’t be in each other’s presence, we found time to at least talk on the phone every single day. It was nothing for me to pop up on her at a photo shoot, send her lunch, or something to show her that I thought about her.

The arena was packed when we arrived, and thank goodness, I had an assigned parking spot because we would have had to walk a long ass way. I parked in the back of the building where the buses were, then helped Harvest out of the truck.

“I don’t know if I want you to even go in there looking like this.” I stepped back and let my eyes travel the length of her body.

The skirt she wore had too much thigh showing for me. She looked damn good, and I knew other men and women would be looking at her. And the shirt with it had a sliver of her stomach showing. She even had the nerve to add waist beads that were visible because of the shirt. Her curly tresses hung down her back. The gold accessories she wore looked perfect against her complexion. Of course, the best piece of jewelry was her wedding band.

“Boston, stop playing.” She giggled. Going to her tiptoes, she kissed my lips, then smiled. “There is nothing for you to be worried about.”

“I’m not worried because I know you ain’t going anywhere. Them niggas can look all they want as long as that’s all they do.” I reached for her hand, then led her toward the door.

The bass from the speakers could be heard from outside, and it only got louder as we entered.

We were a few minutes late, so we missed the first part of Hustle’s set. He was one of the first artists I signed, and I knew he would get the crowd amped up for the night. He was a combination of hood but also knew how to appeal to the ladies.

I spoke to multiple people as we made our way toward the stage. I wanted to be close to the action but didn’t want to be in the crowd. I also had a surprise for Harvest that I hoped she didn’t hate by the end of the night.

“I’ve never been on this side of the stage before,” Harvest said in my ear as we listened to one of Hustle’s more intimate songs.

“It’s definitely a different view.” I held her in my arms as Hustle finished up his set. When he was done, it was time for Chasity, and even though she expressed that she was nervous, she did her thing. And when Miami came out for her feature, the crowd went wild. It was the perfect segue into Miami performing a few of her songs.

Harvest and I danced, rapped, and sang to every song that each artist performed. I loved how in tune we were with each other and how we both loved good music.

“Thank you. Before I go, I’d like to bring out the man that made all of this possible.” Miami turned to us and smiled. “Ladies and gentlemen, Boston Brooks.”

The thunderous applause and screams of the people made me feel so proud of everything I had accomplished.

Harvest looked at me with excitement in her eyes, then stood back.
