“I’ve been the boss here for twenty years, and I don’t go out for things like that anymore.” I mostly stay home and torture. “But after I met you, I went after them myself, and it felt really good to get revenge. Not for you, but because of you. You’re so sweet and kind, you’d never wish that on them even though they deserve it. I still want them dead, though.”
“Not dead,” Rory reminds me.
“Fine.” It saves me the trouble of having to deal with their limp-dicked parents. “How about we take a nap?”
“You just want me to sleep.” He pouts.
“Nope, I’m tired too.”
“Liar.”
“Alright, what would you like to do instead?”
“Don’t you have to work?”
“Always.” I chuckle.
“You can go to work,” he offers, but his voice shakes.
“Rory, I’m not leaving you. I know you’re not ready to be alone.”
“I’m not alone here,” he whispers.
“But it’s not what you want. You don’t want to be without me or Brendan.”
“I feel safe with Tag and Mal.”
“Good. They’ll protect you with everything they have. Now, tell me. Do you want to be alone?”
“I don’t want to be alone. Ever.” He sighs like a weight falls off his shoulders. “I’m tired of trying to be strong. I’m needy and clingy.”
“And that’s okay.”
“But I don’t want to interrupt your work.”
“Never. You’re more important than work.”
“Okay, but I don’t want to be there for any of the bloody stuff.”
“I would never allow that. No more nightmare material for you. What would you like to do while I work?”
“I’ve been doing a lot of crafts. I like to read and play on my Switch.”
“What kind of crafts?”
“Like you don’t already know, you stalker,” he teases and climbs out of bed. He’s so gorgeous. “You better get dressed.”
“Or… We could stay here and work naked.”
“I doubt we’d get much work done,” Rory teases.
“I can keep myself under control.”
“I can’t. Not now that I know what your dick tastes like.” He leans down for a kiss.
“Such naughty words,” I purr against his lips and pull him back into the bed.
He laughs and rolls with me. “Well, it’s a good dick.”
