A choked sound left me as I arched my back, sliding a finger deep inside while continuing to work my clit. My headfell back, my hand moving faster, my finger penetrating deeper until I couldn’t hold back.
With Darcke’s shuddering groan surrounding me, I came apart. The sensation was stronger than I’d ever felt before as he came right with me, his convulsions and mine weaving across the bond until we were a mess of sweat and heavy and hot limbs.
As I slid my hand out of my trousers, I heard Darcke pull his own up.
“Turn around,” he ordered quietly. “Slowly.”
Despite what we’d just done, more heat flared within me. He was on edge as well, balancing on the border of insanity, and when his eyes collided with mine, his body jerked forward like an arrow let go too soon. Darcke groaned as he took me in, his eyes moving impossibly slow over my body, until they reached what I guessed were furiously flushed cheeks.
“Fucking Hel,” he whispered.
Shaking his head, he gestured for me. “Come on.”
I nervously fidgeted with my tunic, trying to quell another onslaught of need. “Where?”
“To the others.” Darcke turned as if it pained him. “Quickly.”
“Why?” I could barely breathe at whatever I felt from him.
His eyes were black when he stilled mid-turn. “Because if I stay here alone with you any longer, I cannot be held accountable for my actions.”
My throat closed, but I managed to follow him across my ship. When we neared the brow, my feet started dragging. Darcke turned, putting us too close together, and his hand covered his eyes when heaviness settled between my legs once more.
“Why are you stopping?” he asked in the raspiest, most alluring fucking voice I’d ever heard.
It took my every effort to get the words out. “We… we probably shouldn’t go over there together.”
Darcke’s lips lifted into a wide, beautiful smile. “I promise you. They won’t notice.”
“How do you know?” I asked, fighting the urge to lace my fingers with his.
My body went as still as a wooden figurehead when Darcke took the hand I’d used to touch myself in his and lifted it to his face. I don’t think either of our hearts beat as he slipped the finger that had just been inside me into his mouth and slowly sucked off whatever wetness remained, his eyes holding mine hostage the entire time.
The desire racking Darcke’s body, and in turn mine, was madness. Incurable cursed madness.
“They won’t notice because they’re crazed with desire from the drug Geord put in their drinks,” Darcke said.
“So are we, and we can hold a rational thought.”Barely.
I didn’t recognize my voice. It was like someone else was speaking. I could only focus on how Darcke kissed my palm as if it was the most natural thing in the world, before lifting a smug face to mine.
“We didn’t drink any wine with the drug.”
I frowned. I’d had several cups of wine. “Yes, we did.”
He tilted his head. “No. We didn’t.”
“Yes. We did!” I gestured ahead. “I drank from the barrels.”
“Did you really? Because I’m quite sure you only drank from the cups your friends gave you.”
“What?” I laughed nervously as I gestured between us with the hand still burning from his touch. “What would you call this, then?”
Lunacy. Insanity. Utter ruin.
His smile nearly sent me to my knees.
“About. Fucking. Time.”
