“You feel that pull towards her too, don’t you?”

I look over at Willow and nod, “Yeah. It’s kind of hard not to.”

“Do you think she’s our scent match?” Her voice is softer now, like she’s almost afraid to ask.

“Yeah,” I chuckle sadly. “I do. And it kills me that I can’t know for sure. But I won’t ask her to go off her scent blocker. That's a personal choice and her reasoning is justified.”

“I know,” she sighs heavily. “I wouldn’t ever ask her to do that either. I’d just like confirmation, you know?”

“I know, Hummingbird.” I lace her fingers with mine, kissing the back of her hand before laying it on my lap. “Just give her time. She knows how much we love her and how safe she is with us. She won’t be on them forever. Not if she doesn’t want them to start affecting her health.”

I’ve had this conversation with Briar before. She’s been on them as long as I’ve known her. And as much as I’d kill to be able to know what she smells like, I never pressed her on it. Now I understand why she’s on them, but that doesn’t take away the fact that every time she gets a headache, or her stomach hurts that I’m not worried about there being long lasting damage and she’s feeling this way because of the scent blockers.

I just want my pack happy, safe and healthy. And I’d do anything to make sure of it.

“Being an alpha to two omegas is amazing. But god, they sure do love to keep us on our toes.”

“But we love them for it, don’t we?” I grin.

“We do,” she smiles.

Another hour later, we’re finally where we need to be. Pulling up to the address I found, I’m shocked by what we’re greeted with.

“Holy fuck,” I whisper.

“Are you sure this is the right address? It looks like a scrapyard had a baby with a car dealership.”

“Nope. It’s the place. Their business is stealing cars, fixing them up and then reselling them. Lovely career choice, right?”

“Totally,” she mutters. “It’s exactly what I’d expect from these lowlifes. How are we going to do this? Sneak in, knock 'em out. Or what?”

“By the sounds of the music blasting, we could sneak in easily,” I tell her. “You got the tranquilizers?”

“Right here.” She holds up the bag with a big grin.

“Let’s go get our girl's surprise.”

We park the truck under one of the trees, using its branches to help hide it. Not that it’s really needed. My truck is black and it’s dark out here.

The walk to the actual house is a nightmare. There’s trash all over the place, different car parts littering the ground.

“I swear if I get tetanus, I’m going to fucking kill those assholes,” Willow mutters, avoiding another piece of trash.

“Isn’t that what we’re going to do anyways?” I chuckle.

“I’ll bring them back to life and kill them all over again then.”

“You’re adorable, you know that?” I grin down at her.

“Just wait until I’m covered in blood with a heart in my hand,” she says with a cheeky wink.

“Hummingbird, I’d really like to not have a raging hard-on while dragging their bodies to the truck,” I groan.

“Oops,” she giggles. “Sorry?”

She issonot sorry.

We make it to the house. All the lights are off apart from the garage. Music is blaring but there's no talking.
