His grin is soon a match for mine. “Baby, you’ve seen nothing yet!”
When he reaches around, grabs my ass and grinds me against his length, I’m in no doubt.
Okay, this could work. However, I want him to know where I stand, where he stands. This has me pulling back just enough that I can look him in the eye. Only once he’s focused do I tell him how it’ll be. “Just so long as you know, it’s only casual. This, this can’t go anywhere.”
As much as I’m telling him, I’m also telling myself. By compartmentalizing my life, I can protect myself. Right?
TYLER
Just as it had surprised me when I’d invited Lily to accompany me to the hardware store this morning, I’m as surprised by my making a move on her now.
And does she really mean it when she says she wants to keep things casual? That’s unusual for a woman. I also need to consider my gut telling me that there’s nothing casual about this woman. Things could go so badly wrong, and if Ethan were to find out, there’d be hell to pay.
While he’s a reasonably easy-going boss, the one rule he has is that you don’t screw the client. Brad had come close to losing his job when he hooked up with Macie, and it’s not a risk I should be taking.
I’d been charging myself out by the hour as a laborer when Ethan offered me the role of supervisor at Lucky Break. It was a role that allowed me to take time off to help with Zoe when needed. It also paid a heap more than any of my other jobs to date.
Lose it and it’d have a massive impact on what I could provide for Zoe. It’d for sure put a dent in my contributions to her college fund. And yeah, I know she’s only four, but I want her to have the things in life that I didn’t.
I forget all this the second Lily’s breasts squash against my chest. I haven’t reacted to a woman like this since when Jade and I had gotten together all those years ago.
Could my body be telling me it’s time to move on with my life? It’s not a decision I can take likely lightly with this affecting Zoe’s life as much as mine.
I have to be damned sure before I commit to anything, anyone. I don’t want to introduce my daughter to a never-ending line-up of partners, as I’ve seen happen with other single parents.
Okay, I get it, people get lonely, but it’s still tough on kids having to deal with the potential fallout of messy break-ups. I certainly don’t remember mom going on any dates after dad decided he preferred being single.
As surprising is the realization, I want to introduce Lily to Zoe, already able to see them laughing together in my mind’s eye.
Eventually, my body tells my mind to shut the hell up and just make the most of the moment. To take it for what it is. To forget about my responsibilities if only for five minutes.
Without taking my lips away from Lily’s, I open one eye. While not huge, the bed at the end of the trailer is definitely big enough for our needs. With our destination confirmed, I move us in that direction, the trailer rocking and rolling violently.
Soon enough, the back of Lily’s legs hit the edge of the bed and I carefully lower us to what proves to be a rock-hard mattress. Great, if you’ve got a bad back, not so good for anything else. It’s just as well I have no intention of taking things too far at this stage, because that bed would leave us black and blue.
There’s also the continued movement of the trailer to contend with. If we were to get hot and heavy, the damned thing would probably fall off its supports. This has me making a mental note to shore it up before we take things any further. It’s also a thought that has me stopping where I am, with Lily freezing next to me.
Despite our enforced stillness, the caravan keeps moving. “You might need to look at replacing the struts and springs. It shouldn’t keep moving this long.” This sparks another thought, although this one is less about springs and more about movement. “It could be fun, though.”
I see to the second when she gets my drift, her eyes widening in response. It’s when she bites her lips that I know she’s trying to stop herself from laughing.
Strange, but when I first met her, she didn’t strike me as the giggly sort. Although, I’m not one to talk, having laughed more in the last day or two than I have a long time.
As my focus zeroes in on those plump lips of hers, I no longer feel like laughing. This has me swiping my thumb across her bottom lip, with her trembling in response. I want to be closer than this, but that’s simply not possible with us half draped over the side of the bed.
“Let’s get more comfortable.” Without giving her any further instructions, I inch my way across the mattress, taking her with me. If anything, the bed feels even firmer now. It’s something that has me lifting the edge of the flowery comforter, my lips parting from Lily’s in surprise. “Well, that explains why it’s so damned hard.”
“It sure does.” There’s a breathy quality to Lily’s voice that has me looking away from the sheet of plywood and focusing on the goddess I’m sharing it with. “Not that wood, you cheeky woman.” I knock on the bed base for clarity before reclaiming her lips.
She’s got the right of it though, with my cock giving the bed base a run for its money in the wood department. If anything, it wins out over the sheet of ply when one of Lily’s thighs makes contact in a way that says it’s been on purpose.
When she gives me a second nudge, I’m left in no doubt and break our kiss. “Sorry sweetheart, but we won’t be going there today.”
“We won’t?” Disappointment tinges her words. However, it’s the hurt in the background that I find most distressing.
This has me kissing her again, throwing every ounce of passion that I can into the kiss. She needs to know I want to, but I can’t. I then kick myself mentally. And how the hell is she supposed to pick all that up from a kiss?
It was something Jade used to give me grief about, with “I’m not a mind reader, Tyler,” being a common refrain at our place.
