Needless to say, plenty of sleep escaped me last night.
Yet, I can assure you I’m not tired or groggy in the slightest. A little sore, yes, but it’s an amazing ache.
It was a mind-boggling night as Amick flip-flopped from ravaging my body to providing the most intimate aftercare I’ve ever experienced.
Despite the many things he’d done to me that would prove my words wrong, I told him I knew being overly touchy still wasn’t something he was comfortable with.
He broke out that deliciously stern voice of his and told me he’d never allow me to clean myself up after he’d done whatever he pleased to me and that it was his pleasure to take care of me in all ways.
Swoon.
“Good.” He smiles against my lips, then turns to Amick beside me. “And how do you feel?”
“Amazing. It was the best night of my existence. I look forward to many more nights just like that.”
Gods. I don’t know if I’ll be able to handle multiple nights like that.
Add Kyzen into the mix and I’m not going to be able to walk.
Oh, shit…there are two more I plan on adding to this equation.
My chest flutters and I refrain from squeezing my thighs together. Creed releases a small grunt and my gaze whips to him. I find him already staring at me. Eyes blazing.
Not white, though, just…heated.
“Did you feel that?” I ask.
“Sure did.”
Oh fuck.
“Wait, I felt a tug too. What was that? Obviously, your soul, but why did I feel it so keenly?” Kyzen bounces his attention between us.
I arch a brow at Creed to see if he’s going to answer, but he’s too busy looking between us.
“Well, Creed’s going to have to confirm this, but something has changed. It changed for me as soon as my soul connected completely to Amick’s. I have, I don’t know how to explain it really, I can feel you three far more distinctly now. Apparently, you all can feel me a little more as well even when I’m not actually trying to tug on you.”
“Explain what’s going on with her soul,” Amick demands.
“It’s strengthening. I’m not entirely sure how to explain it either, but it’s stronger. The tethers that I follow to each of us are no longer like wisps. They don’t flow like smoke anymore. They’re taut like my power when I cast it out. Like ropes. More than half of her soul is now anchored. It’s starting to truly settle into its new homes.”
“That’s…exactly how it feels.” I nod, and they all turn toward me. “I can’t see it—wait, can you really see it?”
He grunts and I make the same noise in return.
“Well, that’s impressive. Anyway, I can’t see anything, but I do feel I guess something akin to a rope connecting to each of you. My sliver that I sense is right here”—I lay my hand to my heart—“but there are also strands that detach from it and go in different directions. I don’t know if that makes any sense.”
“Yeah, what you’re saying does make sense, but I don’t feel that rope. Do you?” Kyzen’s asks, turning toward Amick.
“No, I don’t either. I do feel like I sense her more, though.”
“Neither of you would need a rope. It’s your soul and her soul inside of you. If you feel something, it’s coming from her.”
I hum while Kyzen and Amick nod because yeah, obviously. My soul better be the only damn one in them.
Aside from their own, of course.
I make my way over to the kettle on the stove, then go ahead and pull five mugs down with a smug smirk on my face as Kyzen and Amick stand at the counter with Creed.
