Yesterday was a whirlwind once Matthew showed up, but it helped clear some stuff up. He meant what he said about not letting Ms. Teal take back our furniture. If it comes down to it, he will pay for it outright, but since she wants to see me, it presents him with a unique opportunity. He has his suspicions that some of the Rebels have been making the rounds to higher ranking or influential people in Nova. At this point he’s not sure who has switched sides, or at the very least, been in contact with them. Since Ms. Teal is one of the most popular people in Nova, she most likely may be a target. So Matthew believes my little green heart might be able to help him, but only if I feel comfortable with it.

Of course, I will help. Any pimple fart who has been around Matthew will do anything for him—though it makes my stomach queasy just thinking about how my barky ass has to see her again.

After I told her, I was shocked when Rez volunteered to come if I wanted her too, with Rez by my side, along with JP, it would be a Fates blessing. Rez is a weapon all by herself, with her witty comebacks and sharp mouth. She gives me strength just being in my presence, but I told her it’s alright, she needs to heal and find Lynx first. When she insisted on coming, I had to promise that I would at least wait until later before seeing the devil herself, and with shadows haunting her eyes, she nodded her agreement. I’m not worried JP will be there for me. He has always been my rock, my strong foundation. So JP will be my shield and Rez will be my sword, but I’m getting ahead of myself. Right now, Rez has to heal before I think about going into battle.

Matthew also wanted to know how in the fuckleducks—my words, not his—we came to no longer having a Door Knight. It was an interesting conversation, but he did assure us he will look into it and give us an update today. He’s confident that Knots didn’tdiebut maybe is blocked in some way. Hopefully, Knots comes back soon. I miss the dark wood.

Heading into the kitchen, I see that JP must have beaten me getting up since there’s an omelet and juice waiting for me on the counter. Swiftly eating my breakfast and placing the dishes in the sink, I send a quick text on my way out the dorm.

Lil Mo:??4 the food. Off to class. ?? ya!

Big Bubba:Take Care… don’t ?? ne 1

Lil Mo:No promises.

Big Bubba:Tweedle Dee

Lil Mo:?? @ least I’m not Tweedle Dumb

I giggle while pocketing my phone in the hallway and immediately bump into someone.

“Watch it, insect,” the body owner growls at me. Looking up, I’m shocked to see someone I don’t know on this floor. What the hell am I looking at? It looks like a mix between a swamp creature and a fish. Not one of those cute fishes either, with their long colorful tails. More like a Catfish that forgot to shave! She’s definitely a fish monster, that’s for sure.

“Don’t mind her, that’s Moni, the simple-minded one, and she’s not the troublemaker. She’s not much to look at either,” Emer says as she calls the elevator.

Taking a potato out of Rez’s bag, I square my shoulders, “And you are? I’ve never met you before,” I ask, giving her a stern look. I might not be much, but I can bite too.

“Aww, look! The human’s little flower has thorns. This is Gertrude, Serafin’s cousin and our new roommate, so I would watch out. Now bug off,” Angel sneers and joins the girls in the elevator, leaving me to take the stairs.

Well frog nuts! More unpleasant bitches to deal with, and all before coffee.Oh! Coffee!Pulling out my coffee mug from Sparks, I take a big gulp and fly down the center of the stairwell.

Yum. Coffee! The sweet nectar of life.I joked with Rez the other day about my coffee coming from magic, but it’s true. What she doesn’t know is I have a thought pocket, like where my wings can be tucked away without using a potion, unlike most supes. I can also store things there, like my coffee I get from Gus. Yes, I go to Sparks daily, but most nights I fly over before closing and grab a few extras for later, tucking them away into my steamer box. I’m lucky enough that whatever I put into my magical steamer beamer stays that way until I pull it out, which is why my coffee stays hot. It’s my magical cooter scooter...I might ask Rez to help me name it, she’s awesome with names. Maybe hot-to-trot box!

Quickly zipping around a few people, I slip into my first class, Woodland Balance 101. Professor Kalinda is a unique Kitsune. She's the only one I know that has some fire and protection magic. Then again, she’s the only Kitsune with ten tails sprouting out of her ass while she’s in her human form. We have a small class which is only held for woodland creatures. I have the whole back corner of the room to myself, that is until Professor K walks in and starts the class.

“Morning class. We have a new student, Chestnut, but you can take your own initiative for a meet and greet on your own time. We have a lot of work to do if we want to practice what we learn in this class. Please pair up and let’s get started.”

What’s up with these new students? Is it popcorn season and they all just popped out of the ground to come to school? Why didn’t I get the memo?

I take in a deep draw from my coffee cup right when our new student walks in, and promptly spew it out all over my desk. Holy baby buddha and dangle farts. Did Heath Ledger have a twin I didn’t know about that came to Purgatory? Because that’s who just walked in, but a younger version with glasses. He pushes his jaw-length wavy blond locks behind his ears and smiles at the class.

I feel something wet hit my hands while grasping my cup for dear life and I realize I’ve been drooling along with the coffee that’s dripping down my chin.Shit! His brown eyes sparkle behind his dark-rimmed glasses as he looks around and spots me sitting by myself.

Bubble butts!

I quickly pull out a spare paper towel from my hot box and start cleaning up the mess on my desk. Great, talk about perfect first impressions! Making sure I didn’t miss a spot, I’m glaring at the table top when I hear the most beautiful voice in the world.

“Anyone sitting here?” he asks. I glance up to see him smiling down at me, and I melt. His voice reminds me of angels singing from the heavens, it’s so smooth and silky. Feeling slightly nervous, I somehow manage to respond by shaking my head and watch as he slides gracefully in next to me.

Leaning over, he touches the corner of his mouth. My eyes dart down to his lips and watch as he licks them.Oh my god. Is he going to kiss me before even knowing my name?I’m about to orgasm when he whispers, “I think you missed something right there.”

Mortified, I wipe my lips and find coffee still on my chin. Great, my first impression meter keeps dropping.

Smiling with his eyes, he watches as I lick my fingers. Dude, it’s coffee…no judgment. He chuckles and then tries to introduce himself.

“I’m Chester.” His smooth voice gives out a little squeak and he freezes, but I find it so cute that I can’t help but fall even more in love with it.

“I’m Moni,” I whisper, smiling back at him. Things are looking up!
